Politics is becoming dirtier as we move along.
In India, 46% of the MPs are facing serious criminal charges (it was 23% in 2004). Conviction rate: near 0. People tend to vote with their feet for these "undesirables".
It was not so in 59s/60s, except perhaps a few, No data is available.

The healthcare scheme of Modi sarkaar has been "big" on announcements, but implementation has been poor. Many hospitals refuse & many have opted out due to inordinate delays in payments by the state govts.
The number of cancer hospitals in India is less than 80 for 1.4 billion population.

Such a system of licences, permits & tariffs is for the ministers/bureaucrats/agents to laugh more all the way to their mattresses/cupboards/offshore bank accounts.
Though, in this fragile state of the planet earth, some of the safeguards have to be built into the system to protect the environment.

These anchors forget some fundamental things.
1. If one sets off a fire, it will engulf the arsonist too.
2. Fanning hate, bigotry & animosity has its consequences.
