1/Safety tips I've learned for online:
- do not reveal your gender, age, marital status, partner, children, location
- do not reveal where you went to school, certifications, degrees, or areas of study
- do not reveal current weather or location-specific conditions, unless it covers multiple states

This is why I drew a line in the sand.

The industry wants to turn the browser into a concierge between you and the web, interpreting and filtering your reality. They call it delegation - I call it a loss of agency.

A browser should be a tool you wield, not something that makes decisions for you.

This should've obvious in my computer course that I have to eventually use AI just for the sake of the course. It gets harder to avoid it and people just let it be. They embrace AI generation and it sucks. I will continue to avoid it but it's a shame that I will inevitably deal with the machines.

Seconding this. Geocities was so popular that they couldn't keep up with demand at first.

LiveJournal had to close off applications for a year because folks overwhelmed them

Something Awful had to start charging for forum access to deal with the load.

And so on.
I was present for the birth of the web, the explosion of personal sites, and the blogging revolution, and you know what we never had to do? Beg people to use our shit.

Major advancements on the Linux front.

I would prefer to use GIMP and I have heard good things about Krita, BUT if you are someone who prefers Photoshop and want to switch to Linux, this may be for you.

We need to start calling AI Tech Companies what they really are, Death Cults.

They are willing to destroy the earth and most of humanity for the CHANCE of birthing a God they can control.

So much to do, yet so little time. I feel like I'm stuck in a cycle that I'm too short-sighted to see. So short-sighted; I can't even see the solution even if it's right in front of me. However, developing new habits and approaches makes this more bearable with the current shenannigans. Wish me luck

This website has reached peak shit and I'm surprised i didn't even get rid of this AI Slop Pest. Twitter is only useful to me for two things, NSFW and Art. There are definitely better places to search that now and It's not worth keeping an account there anymore.

won't miss you
I regret owning this

I am shocked that there are people excusing using generative AI as a placeholder.

If we give them an inch they will take it the whole mile, negatively affecting literally everything in our lives.

ALL GENERATIVE AI IS BAD. STOP USING IT.

if you're into AI "advisors" and find their insights helpful, may I non-ironically recommend seriously considering: tarot

- connection to your subconscious
- therapeutic or confessional as need be
- patterns of meaning
- self-determined takeaways
- no need to google facts afterwards

Award shows are very biased platforms for promoting other Content Creators(CCs) that cater to the hosts and it's better to treat these as a joke. It's best if we use the platform by giving recognition to ones who brought unique stuff to the table or those with stories that people would need to hear.
