i fell in love with banana fish the same yr my friend and i started conceptualizing this story. akimi yoshida became one of my favorite mangakas.
i always make it a point to study, and so i spent a lot of time studying from the banana fish art book, "angel eyes" and from the manga itself.

it needs to be understood that being literate in the visual arts, as in, being able to look at an image wholly, know what makes it, reading what its trying to say has always been just as important, if not moreso than literacy in terms of being able to critically think about language
