IFA (to/from France), Viking (Denmark) and North Sea Link (yes Norway not EU but they in turn feed Denmark and the Netherlands). Might help if wind power is scaled up in the North Sea.

Mains might be for a clock taking 50hertz pulses
and the light, and the spark ignition.
Maybe fan too.

Sometimes there's a safety interlock that the clock must be operational and set for the ignitor to work.

Battery ignition would let it work off propane gas canister without mains electricity.
