I will say over and over again that us library folk need to be louder in our support of the Post Office. Because guess what—if they start thinking of USPS in terms of“making” or “losing” money, libraries won’t be far behind.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

We are not the same. I worry about the people I love who are not white. I worry about the people I love who are LGBTQ/Trans. I worry about the people I love who need social benefits and healthcare. You actively work against those people and support people who wish them harm or worse, wish them dead. I worry about your side, too. I worry about your child or your spouse or your sibling in the military. You support people who call them suckers and losers and who consistently, reliably, every fucking time vote down taking care of them. You support people who bring up the troops for 29 days instead of 30 so they don't get their benefits. We are not the same. I worry about our police forces. You blithely post your Back the Blue bullshit while supporting people who literally let insurrectionists go free after mayhem and murder at our nation's capital. I can't believe you anymore when you post your thin blue line memes. We are not the same. I worry about your disabled child. I worry about your child with mental health issues. I worry about your child with special needs. I worry about the fact that the people you support LITERALLY WISH YOUR OWN CHILD DID NOT EXIST because they are a drain on the system. They are less-than. But you support those folks who cut mental health resources. You support people who want your child on the spectrum to be sent to a fucking work camp and have all of their meds and supports yanked away. You support people who cut the Medicaid benefits that keep your child alive. We are not the same. I worry about your child and mine, every fucking day, hoping they don't get shot up at school. You make a martyr out of someone who thought his own horrific death was worth the price of having guns everywhere. I don't want to take away your guns. I just want some actual rules and regulations that work. We are not the same. I worry about your daughters and I thank the universe every day I don't have one. This is no joke. Summer of 2023 I honestly thought I was having a mental breakdown. I'm fortunate to have a great doctor who sent me to a neurologist to make sure everything was good (I'm missing a spot in my brain, though! Also no joke!!).
