Celebrating Jane Austen's 250th birthday with the relaunch of my graphic novel "Hex Me Again!" It's an adaptation of her well-loved story, "Pride and Prejudice," mixed with one of my deepest loves- monsters. Earlier this year when “Zenshu” came out, I explained to my partner the terrible piece of media that got me into drawing comics was “The Nutcracker Prince”(‘90.) I wrote and illustrated an entire fanfic to this movie. That knowledge sent him on a year-long quest to find a physical copy of the film.

How I make a THUMB BOOK! Thumb books are used for comic thumbnail sketches, I make my own to adjust for pages needed for whatever project I’m working on.
You can use whatever paper you have. I also like to make my thumb books COLORFUL!

Always happy to answer questions about cartooning and comics as a creator and teacher. What tools I use? Sure! CMYK vs RGB? No problem. How to combat the ever crushing dread of imposter syndrome eating away at your soul? Still working on that but can give tips to build that confidence back up.
Share your knowledge if/when you can. Teaching other people how to do what you do doesn’t lessen your art - it just means more and better art for everyone.
I appreciate when people are willing to tell me about their brushes, how they study, etc… I want to put that back out into the world.
