After a drizzling morning, it’s brightening up. The poor crofters brought the cattle to the pens for testing. Neither the weather nor the mooing discouraged the #hens though. #uist

A tortoiseshell cat sleeps on a stool and outside the garden and loch are misty and wet.

Through a salt spattered window a line of Aberdeen Angus cattle files into the pen beyond my gate.

We need preventative medicine back - which includes making covid boosters available freely to ANYONE who wants one - which means masking in healthcare at the very least, which means a focus on clean air in schools, hospitals, workplaces. You can't limit long covid without limiting covid infections.

Rather gloomy and wet, this morning. R and I are giving swimming a miss as we’re both rather tired. #uist

The view across the garden hedge to the fields and loch under a heavy grey sky. I’m going to trim the hedge back to ensure my telescope view is clear but not yet. There are late flowers and the odd bumblebee. I can wait.
