You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Big sports fan, love the data. Will mostly chat #LFC - a positive red. Occasional bit of non-league with #Wokingfc & some #Cricket when the ☀️ is out.

Great points.

From what I have seen of the avg positions vs last year, and even the better games we have played this year, our 9 dropped in to support the midfield more, the two wide men weren't as wide and double pivot was closer together.

That can't be a coincidence?
There will always be decisions that don’t go your way.

Dom’s throw in bouncing back to our keeper for no logical reason, it lead to the corner for their goal.

I was always told to look at yourselves first, what could we have done better. Take more than 1 of 4 big chances we don’t lose. Simple.

Tactical analysis of the #LIVMUN game is here:

- Muddled planning in the build-up: positional play confused.
- The single pivot build-up making it so open in transition.
- Set-piece issues for #LFC
- Credit Amorim for being bold.

That & much more.

Looking at avg player positions vs last year. Our 9 dropped in more, wide men were closer to the middle, the front set up wasn't as dysfunctional.

Our double pivot is more 1-1.5 on avg, RG is isolated in the games we've been poor - do we have too many 10s now? #LFC

There's some obvious patterns.
We’ve lost 3 of our key five attackers, the press, the movement and all that came with it, two new full backs and a magnificent 10 who we need to build around.

This might be like the time Fabinho turned up and solved lots of issues. Feels like too much forward talent, fewer protectors.
I mean, we’re losing games by not finishing off 4 or 5 chances and we are losing 2-1. You would think it’s far worse than that by some reactions.

I’ll stick by my pre-season view that we may have changed too much, too quickly. It may be a cup season.
This seemed to just happen and nothing.

He dropped the ball and picked it up, the ref saw it and I still don’t know why it wasn’t an indirect free kick in the box. It’s the text book definition of a keeper f**k up.

My son is a 13 year old keeper, he knew it was a mistake. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
Fine margins and there were too many today again.
Gakpo doesn’t help him, he doesn’t help Robbo either. Not like Diaz used to.

That and the system means we attack with two 10s, the 4 in behind the striker lose possession the full backs are both exposed this year more than last.
Valid concerns. Some said no.

Diaz, Nunez and Jota… three of front three, off the ball, the press isn’t the same.

Two new full backs.

Salah and Gakpo playing wider to accommodate two 10s in the build up.

Trent’s creativity gone, build up very different.
One concern going into the new season, have we changed too much in one go? #LFC
We’ve created enough chances again to win that but we can’t finish at the moment.

…like the previous 7 games, we are far too open in the middle of the park, it’s not difficult to see and both our wide men don’t support our full backs out of possession. #LFC
My 13 year old goalkeeping son said he’s not allowed to do that, everyone just carried on as normal?
Not enough, for me, made of the GK dropping the ball and the. Picking it back up/. #LFC
Weirdly he went with three in there not to be over run, but then we’re building up with two 10s so the turnover in possession is leaving Gravenberch on his own and five players above their midfield.

I’d go 4-4-2, get Ekitike on and be more direct into the channels. That’s where United are weak.
2 big chances for both teams and we didn’t take either.

Something systematically is off in the build up and it’s getting us in trouble, we’re trying to use two 10s but we’re not getting it into them enough. Alexis isn’t in the game at all. #LFC
That should’ve been blown for a head injury but what happens after was poor.
The route one direct football rise, long throws etc, lots of 3-4-3 sides, we can’t be far away from the cycle of 4-4-2, big man little man combos again, it’s cyclical this game with developed nuances here and there. #LFC
Just seen the red card for Woking, it’s not even a foul. Right in front of the Lino too. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Seems to be an issue, my Sky Stream not working. Several reboots and restarts but live tv gone.
Hopefully they continue to say nothing. Keep his price down.
It should be done as a unit but it’s all a bit off at the moment. The midfield doesn’t always join in.
He was 92 percentile for pressing in the PL with Newcastle, up there with the highest pressers. 🤷🏻‍♂️
He pressed at Newcastle, all their front three did. Depends who they played.

Dom was always more of an 8 type before joining, so he should be alongside Gravenberch more.

We’ve changed too much, too quickly, we aren’t finishing chances, tempo is slow and press is disjointed.
Last year we had intensity up top, Diaz, Jota/Nunez and Salah, then Gakpo came off the bench with one other, Dom actually played in midfield to back that up, Elliott added it too. That’s not the same so far. Defence starts up top.

Our subs for the last 20-25mins is not the same this year. #LFC
Gomez not coming on for Ibou was strange, we lost Dom to right back when Frimpong is sat there. Kerkez didn’t need to come off, others needed to be replaced more.

We’re not making clever changes imo.
