My father thinks Elon is a genius because he's successful (i.e. rich).
So I asked him what Elon is a genius IN. Because as a software/tech guy, I could assure him it's absolutely not tech.
His response: "I'm not a genius, so I don't understand it."
So yeah. Definitely in cult territory here. 😑

My rule for getting along in public spaces is to ignore things I dislike but aren't affecting me.
If you make yourself impossible to ignore, whether through noise or obstruction or unavoidable proximity, then any sympathy I have for your self expression evaporates and you can go jump in a lake.

There is an extremely prolific youtube video host who shows up in a lot of interesting ones about strange places or events but he has some Commonwealth accent AND pronounces foreign words very Anglishly so every time he says a Japanese name I lose several more neurons.

Was reading the sample for a shifter book and was v. happy when the protag's obligatory dark forest encounter was with a big scarousing anthro-wolf but then protag insisted he shift and his human form was declared super hot vs. the "flea-ridden monster" form and I literally threw it to the floor.

My concept of this is more like: if you choose to end it then it was successful; if you are forced to end it then it was a failure.
(With a few exceptions, e.g. any explicitly stated goals make success evaluable against those goals instead.)
