I need someone to reconcile the Direct Sockets proposal in the Web Incubator Community Group with the Sockets API proposal from WinterTC before either gets so entrenched that we end up with two very similar and yet incompatible specifications for a TCP/UDP sockets API in JavaScript environments.

how do you all remember every UUID? I find it really hard. so I wrote them all down on every uuid dot com

the list has fast search across all 2^122 values (so you can find your favorites) - hoping to add some social features like "trending UUIDs" soon!

As a browser engineer, seeing people build things like this warms my heart.

An @oxidecomputer.bsky.social rack comes with casters, unlike the Mac Pro.

My little tool for setting the time on a Xiaomi e-ink clock made an appearance on Eric Lawrence's recent post on security tradeoffs.

Web APIs for connecting to Bluetooth and USB devices are scary but they're better than the alternative of executing native code.

Web developers should be forced to use their own sites while using an international roaming plan that gives you 256 kbps (or worse).

Especially bus ticket site developers.

I managed to convince Windows 11 to let me configure dial-up networking.

I'm curious if @koush.bsky.social has noticed any issues with garbage collection pauses when receiving lots of data with WebUSB in vysor.io.

github.com/WICG/webusb/... is a potential solution but it's hard to justify creating so much churn without strong signals that it will be helpful.

Can I please just write Rust instead of having to figure out how to make C++ behave like Rust?

Ok let's see how bsky works for professional posting. While being named @buttplug.engineer.

Anyone looking for Rust/C#/possibly C++/TS/JS/WASM/etc... developers at the staff/principle level?

I'm starting to look around for new opportunities, curious what might be available out there.

I have transitions lenses (UV reactive lenses which darken in sunlight). Since I'm walking with the sun exactly to my left, my right lens is in shadow. That means that only the left lens is transitioning and so colors appear differently between my eyes. This is very weird.

I'm having one of those moments where I'm reading through the code for a system and discovering that how I thought it works is not at all how it actually works.

At least I found a comment pointing to an issue tracking fixing things so that they work a lot more like how I thought they did.
