Not sure what grabbed me but I read this entire book yesterday. Good example why more availability is always a net gain. Some were never going to read. For us who will, there's more available. For the others, now they're getting the "spark notes". And maybe an unexpected book will tickle just right

Don’t be fooled: The Trump administration filed this motion to protect its ability to restrict mifepristone later.

Both the Louisiana politicians who brought this case and this administration have the same goal: Limiting our access to abortion.
Trump asks federal court to hit pause on abortion pill case, citing ongoing study
The administration argues the lawsuit may be “unnecessary” since the FDA may impose the restrictions Louisiana wants of its own volition.

Shoutout to @courthousenews.bsky.social for their logo (or is it lettermark? is that a thing? profile pic?) which made me think "I need a new font" but sadly when I checked the website they too have fallen prey to the heretical misbelief regarding proper usage of serif v san serif fonts.

It has been said we live in a time of "spiritual warfare"

It isn't between The Devil & God (see Brand New)

It is between Word & Numbers

Neither of have any relation remaining w/ reality.

The math don't math & the laws don't law.
Behold the Econominomicron, gaze upon the numbers and know the time of the Word is over. Big Data is in control and all will submit to the infallible unfathomable Überwille
In which direction does the value of various size plastics scale? nano -> macro or macro <- nano? And what does that mean? I mean, which side of the text alignment do we drive on here?

Our brains are encrypted and we're losing the keys
See this is the problem w/ having malicious narcissists in the highest seats of authority. And that refers not only to the federal government but throughout the country. Nepotism reigns supreme. Your credentials don't mean shit I hate to tell you. It's mostly a receipt.
Base #$UBI providing all necessities to each person. End of year tax excess wealth.

This requires functional government & regulatory systems.

That is much less complicated than we are told.

It requires trust.

Large, centralized systems make sense.

No trust, no society.

I don't believe in fear.

A subtle important detail is Hitler taking orders from Trump

I'm not sure what that is supposed to represent - is Trump listening to his "inner Hitler" or... like is it backwards?

This is why we're not supposed to be here, I've been trying to tell you all for a decade. This is batshit country

This is why I try to be intentional w/ posts, why I spend more time on my own profile pages than main "feeds". Instead of accepting w/o deliberation what is randomly (algorithmically) repeated, I instead nitpick my own thoughts & opinions to find exactly where my own bias & inconsistencies lie.
There are real problems but the news each sees repeated on our hyper-personalized devices is very different. Even if all stories whether from mainstream or... uh "news influencers" or "political operatives" were rigorously fact checked & 100% truth - (artificial) amplification & distortion happen.
And against all of my initial thinking & opposition (& support of immigration which is always a benefit for both immigrants & their new homes - especially when they fill vacant jobs like construction, as we have) there are legitimately _some_ valid points.

But. not. like. this.
