ICYMI: Sometimes - often, I think - what is delusionally (on the part of "professionals" and "authorities") considered a mental health problem is a normal, sane reaction to untenable circumstance

Pathologizing distress benefits psychiatry, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies, but dampens responses that could dismantle oppression.

Seems strange to me that while #Epstein and internet porn, like #OnlyFans (etc) have both been part of "the zeitgeist" for awhile, the relation between them - the exploitation of women who are mostly young by men who are mostly old and wealthy - is almost never discussed
Many related topics but the main thing for me is how all of the many articles the last few years talking about generally internet porn - not once has any of them addressed how it relates to the impossible economic environment.

Another story I think has more to it than it may appear
Google says the origin of many of today's text scams stems from “a cybercriminal group in China” that's been selling “phishing for dummies” kits to unsavvy fraudsters.
Google vows to stop scam E-Z Pass and USPS texts plaguing Americans

Perfect example of the two-tiered system enabled by "finance"
November 12, 2025 at 11:24 PM
The only difference is because it is decentralized - separations between the deciders & the effects of decisions (directly comparable to the Nuremberg defense) - it is more difficult to understand how excessive, wasteful consumption from people you don't know directly affects you
Particularly considering finance _is_ a 'zero sum' system - because all debt (which is how money is "created") makes all currency worth less - so those of us excluded from access to credit are, by extension, forced into a sort of decentralized slavery

Vampire bats produce an anticoagulant called draculin that helps them feed on blood without it clotting.

Scientists are studying possible human uses for the blood thinner, so if you overhear a nurse ordering you a dose of draculin, don’t be (too) afraid.

Campaign finance is nearly perfectly representative of how "privatization" of any formerly (public) govt administered service functions.

AKA corruption enabling

It's almost like if you accumulate a big pot of money w/ lax oversight, you're inviting fraud

Amusingly, that's how vampires work!

Fwiw my politics are firmly anti ideology, I think (based on actually reading & having a memory) political corruption, especially in the US, is non partisan - some are worse than others - & a major enabling factor is the oligarchs (aka politicians) don't understand how detached from reality they are

To prevent corruption, the Constitution prohibits the president and other officials from receiving untoward benefits. Congress, however, must take action to enable enforcement.

Right now, that’s impossible because Westlaw is the one creating the citations and they don’t share them. 1/
