How to get all the RSS feeds from @bell.bz's query.

I've put the actual code in the alt text. There's one part of me that says that's accessible, whilst my gut says a screenreader announcing all this code is fairly useless (but then it can be copied?).

The little (hacked) handheld always surprises me. It holds its charge especially well - I've not charged it in 6 months and still boots (which I don't tend to expect from modern hardware).

Just an aging JavaScript developer attempting to learn things (I'm learning, whether I'm succeeding is entirely a flip of a coin, that's super glued to the floor)

Love me some Home Assistant, but I've never had any success, at all, with Music Assistant. On paper it is the perfect product, but my experience is horrible. Often I can't even play the song, then if I skip, it tries to play multiple songs at the same time (as if zipped together) 😔. One day…

Very much enjoyed Song Sung Blue. Properly pulls at the heart strings too.

Me: `tsx script.ts` because apparently tsx just works.

TSX:
node:internal/modules/run_main:122
triggerUncaughtException(
^
Error: Transform failed with 2 errors:
blah blah blah
name: 'TransformError'
}

Me: deno, please just run this and save me from typescript.

Deno: 🦕💪

Win.

VS Code added some kind of weird autocomplete to the terminal panel and it's been constantly getting in my way.

Only today did it piss me off enough for me to finally work out how to boot it out of my way.

Who do I know that's going to @beyondtellerrand.com Dusseldorf?

Only because I'm shy AF (yes…) and I prefer to be a Klingon if possible.

TIL the Logi+ MX mouse (thing whatever it's called), allows me to use the horizontal scroller as a button too. I didn't know it was touch sensitive.

I've got it set to "touch hold" to toggle the zoom on a window.

Getting increasingly pissed off with hardware that depends on the cloud to function. This morning my office didn't get heated because the Goolge Nest returned a 503 error, and today my Logi MX mouse doesn't work because a dev SSL cert is out of date.

What. The actual. Fuck.

I've gotta eject.

Enjoying Traitors, but whoever the fuck keeps doing the ASMR breathing in the background needs a swift slap to the back of the head.

Using a mouse on my android phone is surprisingly satisfying.

"Man I Need" by Olivia Dean has been on repeat for the last few days. Love the vibe. Though for the first day I thought she was singing "Suddenly, suddenly" - which I repeated like a chump.

Successfully did the thing I didn't want to do this year: book a follow up dentist appointment (after I had a tooth extracted 2 months ago, there's some bone peeking out).

By some chance, first I got an appointment today, then numbing agent applied, the bone/tooth fragment fell out. Then, cost: £0.

Happy New Year, everyone, all the best to you!

Pixel Pioneers is back in Bristol on 19 June, and we'll announce the first speakers very soon. Early birds are still on sale, but more than half are already gone: pixelpioneers.co/events/brist...

Thank you for all the book recommendations. Got a nice little list lined up (though I should have said "fiction" - because reading non-fiction takes me - literally - months).

Using home assistant to make things "simpler". Here's the situation with the heating (which, is more cost effective AND simplified from what it looked like yesterday!)

Send me your reading recommendations - if I were to read one book this year, what should it be (hopefully I'll manage more than one book though!)

Books I read in 2025 (which originally auto-published with some of the wrong data) and annoyingly I *just* finished the Christmas book I was reading this morning (so my 2025 is 14, not 15 🤦): remysharp.com/2026/01/01/b...

I'm rather bummed out to slowly accept that the comments service I used for my blog has just disappeared (most of December) - taking years of your comments with it 😔.

I'm trying to contact the owner, but not making much progress.

Finally got my year end 2025 thing out. I've got to reread it, it was written in spits and spats over the last week or so. Still, for your pleasure: remysharp.com/2025/12/31/m...

Weird watching the BBC entry to the year and talking about Britain is for everyone when the last year seems to have scaled up the sides that say it's not...how about instead: SOLIDARITY
