Last week, I spoke on the House Floor about the consequences of cuts to the Social Security Administration workforce. Members of our communities rely on these lifesaving services, so I urge my colleagues in Congress to bring this issue to the forefront and reinstate these essential positions.

Today, 81 years ago, the Auschwitz Concentration Camp was liberated; the millions of lives lost there will never be forgotten. Today and every day, we honor their humanity and reflect on the lives, families, and futures that were lost.

Today I honor the people of Iran and their brave resistance to the Khamenei regime to bring about a free and democratic Iran. Iran's leaders must cease slaughtering its people, and heed the lessons of history - that corruption and repression will only lead to their downfall.

Evolving technology on our streets should not mean lack of standards or safety precautions. My bill enhances public safety by protecting drivers, passengers, and first responders from the potential danger of electric vehicle battery fires.
Congress eyes new electric vehicle safety standards legislation. How backers say it will save lives.
Electric vehicles could soon be in the crosshairs of Congress, with a new bill that would force more rigorous safety standards.

Leave. Greenland. Alone.

The reckless threats to impose American military will everywhere is destroying American goodwill across the globe. The Administration’s foreign policy is looking more like Putin’s Russia.

January 6th, 2021, will be remembered as the day our Capitol was tarnished with hate and violence. May we remember, and thank, the brave servicemen and women who worked to protect those who work in the Capitol building that day.

I led 20 of my House colleagues in sending a letter to Treasury Sec. Bessent and Homeland Security Sec. Noem urging both departments to dedicate resources to planning for the impending SCOTUS decision on the legality of the President’s tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

Republican leadership is unwilling to call a vote to extend the ACA Enhanced Premium Tax credit. They pulled a stunt by passing a bill that did not contain a single word about ACA credits but the Amercians people are not buying it.

I'm a proud cosponsor of Rep. Tim Kennedy's LEAP Act, which would ensure that students getting advanced degrees that Trump's Admin no longer considers "professional" can still access higher loan caps.

While we mourn the tragic events in Sydney, we are reminded that celebrations for Chanukah should be welcomed as part of our diverse mosaic of cultures and religions. Tonight marks the first night of Chanukah - may the next 8 nights be filled with peace and light.

I proudly cosponsored and voted for the Protect America’s Workforce Act, which passed in the House this week. This bill repeals Trump’s EO that stripped 1 million federal workers of collective bargaining rights. This will restore rights and I’ll continue to fight this admin’s attacks on workers.

The Trump Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency is quietly denying us protection from forever chemicals, such as PFAS. Not only is this Administration making our groceries more expensive, but they’re also making them less healthy.

This Administration has proven they have an anti-education agenda that goes beyond picking someone to lead the ED who knows more about pro wrestling than education.

This week, @repglatimer.bsky.social and I led a coalition of Bronx elected officials in urging Secretary Rubio and the U.S. Department of State to deliver immediate emergency aid to Jamaica following the catastrophic destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa.

The NY Congressional delegation has urged Trump and USDA to ensure SNAP benefits will be received by New Yorkers without delay. USDA has contingency funds for this exact scenario and has a clear legal obligation do disburse them. The President is making a choice to take food assistance away.

Happy Halloween! Unfortunately this year, even Halloween candy is not immune from Trump’s reckless tariffs. Yet another example of how families continue to be squeezed by rising costs.

Hurricane Melissa recently made landfall over Jamaica and is a devastating storm. My thoughts are with the people of Jamaica and their family and loved ones in Westchester and the Bronx at this uncertain time. In the coming days, my office is here to assist however we can.
