The way he speaks about Somalis reminds me of how, when my Irish and Italian ancestors arrived in the United States, people who were already here used to talk about them - with bigotry and hatred.

We can do better.
Trump goes on another racist rant about Somalis: "Ilhan Omar should be thrown the hell out of our country, and most of those people -- they have destroyed Minnesota. It's a hellhole right now. Those Somalians should be out of here. They have destroyed out country ... go back to your own country."

The President - insisting that the MRI scan was "perfect" and that his brain is fully functional - said he has no idea what part of his body was scanned by the MRI.
President Trump said today he'll release the results of his October MRI scan, after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz called for him to do so and claimed that the president is "fading physically."

Trump said he had "no idea" what part of the body was scanned because it was "just an MRI," but the results were "perfect."

Today I went to an early Mass at St Joseph’s on 6th St in Greenwich Village.

Why? Because I’m remembering my immigrant ancestors. My great great grandmother Lizzie Devlin was baptised here on March 6th 1853, held by her immigrant parents Ann White and Edward Devlin, from Armagh, Ireland.

"Never spread the lie in the headline" should be a hard rule of 21st century journalism.

Research shows that repeating lies helps to spread them, and people read headlines more than they read stories.
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

Now, Trump has called for my execution because he didn’t like what I had to say.

Gabby and I know, when others try to silence you, you must keep speaking out — and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

Trump’s “healthcare” plan will bankrupt and kill millions of Americans.

We can eliminate the private insurance industry, and save $650B per year with Medicare for All — which would cover everyone, save families money, and include dental, vision, hearing, prescriptions and longterm care.
