The Catcliffe Glass Cone in #Rotherham. Dating all the way back to 1740, it is the earliest surviving example of its type in Western Europe. It remained in use until 1901 and even housed prisoners in WW1!!

Elsecar Newcomen Engine, the Earl's Great Engine, installed as part of the #Elsecar New Colliery in 1795. The engine pumped water from the mine to allow the lower levels to be safely worked

Visited the absolutely mind-blowing #GreaOrme #BronzeAge Copper Mines on Monday. Could have stayed there for a lot longer, but the journey homeward beckoned. Only 5% of what is down there has actually been uncovered. Can't wait for what is to come 😍

St.Mary's Church, Conwy, founded in 1284. The Medieval processional cross was used in Monza Cathedral, Italy until the 18c. The rood screen, 15c, marked the wedding of Arthur and Catherine of Aragon. The 15c choir stalls have amazing graffiti! #Wales #Conwy #History
