Damned fine day. Two 15-16" hatchery holdovers and a smaller native rainbow with very different coloring. Another broke me off. Huge hatch going on today and the fish were very active.
Sadly, we need rain and snow. The river was very low and clear.

It pisses me off so much to hear squealing hogs who would never serve their community or country like Trump and his supporters talk like this.

Oregon's winter inversions in action. Two days apart, but nevertheless. It stayed pretty foggy in town today. This isn't far out of town. But up at 4500 feet it was warmer than in the valley and absolutely gorgeous.

I don't. I've seen the videos. They're more accurately described as violence enthusiasts rather than specialists.
It’s worth considering that an overnight dismantling of ICE in 2029 would release into the wild a whole herd of specialists in violence with scant other marketable skills.

Got in a bunch of new hen hackle this week and have tied a lot of wet flies. The Coq de Leon really demands a larger hook and will be excellent for buggers.

This is an escalation of what DHS was doing in Portland in 2020, where they'd snatch people who had been protesting off the street at night using unmarked vans. The whole agency needs to be shut down.
Having seen several abductions up close, it is really hard to convey how much the thing they’re doing is roaming in military convoys until they see someone who is alone and isn’t white, and then jumping out in large numbers, pulling them into a van, and screeching off, all in 90 seconds or so.

I love how wildly different these fish look in different rivers and conditions. The green back perfectly matched the water color. The washed out colors and spots make it hard to tell if this is a rainbow or a cutthroat (maxilla suggests cuttie?).

Spent the afternoon practicing spey casting the other day. Managed to catch my first local glimpse of winter snow and the hills of the Umpqua being ridiculously photogenic.
