I just finished reading A World Worth Saving by @kylelukoff.bsky.social and it was SOOOO GOOD! I appreciated the nuance and diversity of trans characters, plus it was just an incredibly engaging story. Not at all surprised it was shortlisted for the National Book Award. Highly recommend.

Totally feel you. You’re not alone. I started querying at the beginning of June and… let’s just say it hasn’t been very encouraging. Also not feeling successful over at the big orange W. This business is a grind. But I also know that I love writing and trying to remind myself of that.

Life imitating art… 5 years ago I wrote a novella about a #stealth teacher who decides to open up about his past after an elementary student comes out as #transgender.

Guess what happened at the beginning of the school year?

Grew up saying it everyday k-12. Now I’m a teacher and I still say it everyday. It’s actually the law and I could potentially be fined if it’s not part of the routine…..
