Well horror has a lot of different genres. I dont think Saw would be a comedy but a lot of other body-horror things would, like Slither.
richamm.bsky.social
Well that is the thing, when looking at massive existential horrors in the world like war and climate change, a man who turns into a wolf is downright silly and not at all scary by comparison. So I think horror is best understood as a genre of absurdist comedy.

‘Brexit is a tragedy and it will be reversed.’ 💥

#Heseltine is the best political communicator by a long way.

His emphatic call for rejoining the EU cuts through the noise, grounded in truth, while the counterarguments cling to a dwindling minority of Brexit believers.

I guess the reality is less binary, in order to primarily centralise and protect wealth and power you need to have a degree of redistribution to the poor to keep that system stable. The two party system offers the choice of that being a little more or a little less.
richamm.bsky.social
This is an interesting question, is the state fundamentally a mechanism for wealth redistribution that can work to reduce or increase inequality or is it one that can only ever centralise power and wealth and acts exclusively to protect that mechanism. Is there democracy or widespread poverty?

DWP just admitted it will now be spying on claimants in Jobcentres as well

Jobcentre security have used body-worn cameras for ages - but the DWP has only just put a formal policy in place.

As well as a GDPR breach, the implications for claimants are vast, too.
