So proud of our @leedseurope.bsky.social team, marching alongside a coalition of groups, united against racism.

Leeds was clear today, 1000s of us #stur and said #refugeesarewelcomehere

I was proud to march today against racism. Alongside @leedseurope.bsky.social I marched in the pro-European bloc on this impressive Stand Up To Racism march: “This is what Leeds looks like!”

Brexit was a Faragist / racist project and I & my friends in Leeds for Europe have fought it for 8+ years. ✊

If you don’t like being called a racist, maybe don’t make a career of saying things that appeal to racists, don’t create a political party that keeps attracting racist candidates, don’t fawn over racist world leaders, and don’t make a convicted racist the guest of honour at your party conference.

So, let's see if I've got this straight?

The world has changed enough for Labour to go back on their bedrock promise not to raise taxes.

But not enough for them to scuff out their red lines on Brexit, the single most damaging drag on the UK economy.

Idiots.

When a political party lies its way into government & fouls everything up it gets voted out at the next General Election 5 years later

When fraudsters con the British public into voting for the disaster that is Brexit, nobody is allowed to change to their mind

That HAS to change

If Keir Starmer won’t even make a moral case against deporting our friends and neighbours, then what is the point of him?
What Do We Have To Lose
If Keir Starmer won’t even make a moral case against deporting our friends and neighbours, then what is the point of him? Plus: some natural borders; and the non-existence of grey, and other letters.

Fast, cheap, clean rail travel is the way to combat global warming, yet our governments have cancelled half of HS2, pushed rail fares to astronomical levels and authorised massive expansion in airports. 🤷‍♂️
richardwilsoneu.bsky.social
Apparently the flights will be cheaper. So that’s alright then. Apparently.
richardwilsoneu.bsky.social
How on earth is doubling capacity for flights going to meet any kind of environmental standards?
drrosena.bsky.social
Expansion at Gatwick has huge potential. It's cleaner and cheaper than Heathrow and will bring 14,000 jobs adding £1bn to our economy a year.

Great to see the Transport Secretary giving it the green light to go ahead but it must meet environmental standards.
richardwilsoneu.bsky.social
Totally agree. The super rich and their political allies are trying to play a massive trick on the public by blaming the most vulnerable people for everything that is wrong in our society. It’s the oldest and crudest deception in the book, but we won’t be taken for fools.
greenparty.org.uk
Reform are trying to sell the myth that deporting people and removing the rights of migrants will solve all the country's problems. It won't.

Know what would help solve the country's problems? Taxing the super-rich properly and closing the inequality gap.
INEQUALITY IS THE PROBLEM
REAL HOPE. REAL CHANGE.

😢 How are flights so much cheaper than trains?
Indeed, why are we forced to pick between cheap & polluting and expensive & sustainable?

Well @greenpeace.eu has the answer: subsidies and MASSIVE tax breaks.
A bright green poster with bold white and pink text at the top: “TRAINS ARE TOO OFTEN MORE EXPENSIVE THAN FLIGHTS.” Below it reads: “Sustainable travel shouldn’t be a luxury.” A color-coded map of Europe shows the proportion of cross-border train routes that are more expensive than flights for the same journey. Colors: green (0–20%), yellow (20–40%), orange (40–60%), red (60–80%), purple (80–100%). For example, Spain, Portugal, and the UK are shaded purple (80–100%), while countries like Poland and Czechia are shaded green (0–20%). At the bottom, source text reads: “Greenpeace, Ticket Prices Of Planes Vs Trains, 2025. Only countries for which at least 4 cross-border routes met the methodological criteria are included in the Scorecard.” Green background with bold text: “WHY ARE TRAINS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN PLANES?” Below is a comparison table with icons of a plane and a train at the top. Two rows:
VAT on international travel: Plane = “NO” (pink), Train = “YES” (yellow).
Kerosene/energy tax: Plane = “NO” (pink), Train = “YES” (yellow).
The chart highlights that flights avoid taxes trains must pay. Source: Greenpeace, Ticket Prices Of Planes Vs Trains, 2025.

THE LONDON ECONOMIC
If you want your country back, go ahead and take it,
There are signs up in every street about what your town needs help with,
Local litter picking groups are always on the lookout,
The library needs volunteers, the youth clubs need a paint job,
The community centre's desperate for folk to come on weekdays
To play board games with older residents and help out in the café,
The rape crisis centres need fundraisers and donors,
And drivers are in dire need to get non-drivers to doctors,
The library needed volunteers all summer, did you go there?
The local football clubs need coaches and lines-folk and referees,
The allotments need looked after, the local parks need planted,
And if you don't want to help with anything above,
Just admit you do not give a sh*t, and shut the f*ck up.
