Not miserable enough.

At what point do laws apply to him and his administration? Meanwhile, the Epstein Files.

The only thing keeping me from canceling Paramount+ is that our local CBS station has an award-winning investigative news team we support. There is also The Daily Show, South Park, and a few more months of Stephen Colbert.

I terminated Amazon Prime and my subscription to the Washington Post when Bezo squashed the Harris endorsement. It is a shame, because the WP had some great journalists and reporters.

Ann, Debra Leary’s Foggy Morning is lovely, but for some reason, I couldn't leave a comment on Igor Volkov’s Untitled (watercolor on paper, 2025), which is one of my favorites among the many evocative pieces you’ve posted. Thanks!

The birthplace of the private prison system and the payday loan industry is Tennessee, a state entrenched with shameful histories.

Good. The establishment Democratic Party needs to ween itself of big donors and actually walk the walk for working class citizens.

Accountability for what you say should be a requirement in politics and in news media.
We live in a world where spin is treated with respect, as a legit way of communicating. It is profitable for the entitled rich and powerful to create this world of “alternate” truth.

Don’t stop there. The entire Republican Party and six members of SCOTUS did it, with the eager assistance of Rupert Murdoch and his media empire.

Every single one of them needs to be trounced in every election for years to come. Any Democrat who doesn’t support undoing Citizens United and committing to Medicare-For-All and fully funding public education needs to be voted out.

Bill Lloyd & The Tallymen, The Posies, Jason & The Scorchers, and, of course, The Ramones. An extra dollop of love goes to Smithereens, whose music was packed with the brash energy of early Who recordings and unforgettable pop-rock melodies.

Why are these guys smiling? The Ramones never smile for photos. Maybe it is because they approve of this week’s 234th Air-Conditioned. It’s a stiff jolt of rock, courtesy of New York Dolls, Ramones, Plimsouls, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, The Beat, Cheap Trick, Cotton Mather, and The Jam.

“Don’t tread on me” license plates are ubiquitous in these parts. As much as these MAGA supporters talk about individual freedom, the administration they voted for is all about control. Like it or not Big Brother is already here.

Nice to see that two shows I’ve worked on are in this list. That said, I would say Dark Winds is being discovered, as opposed to “criminally forgotten." Season 4 begins airing on February 15th.

Kendzior’s books are great reads. They Knew is very informative, but Hiding In Plain Sight stood out for me. I ended up getting the audiobooks, which are read by the author.
