In the initial post I would have said figure skating was the ballet part, but after all the falls of the past half hour I’m rethinking.
More than a little tickled by the fact that figure skating and short track speed skating are in the same rink in Milan. It’s like having ballet and demolition derby in the same venue.

I'm bummed Warner Bros didn't plan for a 4DX version of #WutheringHeights. Where is the wind to carry my anguished sigh? How can I shed tears if not in the dampness of the moors? How will I know my heart is breaking if the earth is still beneath my feet?

Let’s get on the “ordering more episodes” part now, shall we Disney?
TV Ratings: ‘Muppet Show’ More than Doubles Audience After Eight Days
The special has climbed to more than 7.5 million viewers across all platforms.

Elisabeth Moss-Claire Danes buddy comedy when? Let ‘em go have a debauched road trip or something, no ugly crying allowed.

Let. Elisabeth. Moss. Do. A. Comedy. (She’s great and the auspices of this are strong, but how much trauma can one actor play?)
Elisabeth Moss Books Return to Hulu in ‘Conviction’ Legal Drama
The series based on novels by Jack Jordan comes from showrunner David Shore and counts Warren Littlefield as an EP.

Fun fact: David Boreanaz is 10 years older than James Garner was when the original version of Rockford Files began
I think this is probably fine - Boreanaz is a reliable actor who can be situationally funny and has even played a (vampire) private eye before. But I think I’d be more excited if NBC had gone a little outside the box, as we were all talking about a month ago.
David Boreanaz to Star in NBC’s ‘Rockford Files’ Reboot
The former ‘SEAL Team,’ ‘Bones’ and ‘Angel’ star will take on a role first played by James Garner.

Dazed and Confused
Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Office Space (1999)

In addition to the many indelible things James Van Der Beek did, he had one of the great TV character names in recent history in the otherwise forgettable “CSI: Cyber,” where he played a guy named … Elijah Mundo.

Though he'll live on forever in memories and memes as Dawson and Mox, James Van Der Beek had a comically weird side that he utilized well in things like "The Rules of Attraction," "Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23" and the supremely odd (that it existed, mostly) "What Would Diplo Do?" #RIP
James Van Der Beek, Star of ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ Dies at 48
He also starred in the films ‘Varsity Blues’ and ‘The Rules of Attraction’ and in the sitcom ‘Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23.’

Super Bowl 60: Just under 125M viewers, second most all time for any U.S. telecast behind last year’s Super Bowl. Bad Bunny had 128.2M viewers, also a little behind last year. (Posts floating around yesterday halftime setting a record were very thinly sourced, at best).
TV Ratings: Super Bowl LX Falls Just Shy of All-Time Record
Nearly 125 million people watched the game, and Bad Bunny’s halftime show drew 128 million.

I have been getting a bunch of likely bot followers lately, and I’m baffled by the ones that are thirst-trap profile pic, 0 posts, following a couple hundred people and < 5 followers. No link in bio (usually no bio at all), no “hello dear” replies. What’s the game/con here?

I used to live in LA and still have a phone number that would suggest I do, although I’ve been in central time for 10+ years. The assumptions people make about where I’m at in my workday can get real annoying, but I just told someone (politely) I’m off the clock for today and it was great.

PS. because Nielsen has an extra layer of data collection now, we’ll find out tomorrow how big the audience was.
Even after years and years of covering ratings, I am still not very good at predicting them. But I gotta think the nature of this game means a not small drop off in the second half.

I forgot this very forgettable game.
13-3 was the lowest scoring superbowl about 6-7 years ago. Don't remember when the td was scored.
February 9, 2026 at 2:31 AM
I know there was a 6-3 Super Bowl in the ‘70s but other than that has one ever gone this long before a TD?

Future Muppet Show hosts, for your consideration (some of these folks are probably too A-list to take the call but would be good nonetheless):

Selena Gomez
Mindy Kaling
Tom Holland
Emma Thompson
Danny Pudi
Rose Byrne
Jason Mantzoukas
Ayo Edebiri
Randall Park

I feel like this, combined with whatever streaming audience it picked up on Disney+, should be enough proof of concept to order more.
Strong linear opening for Disney's THE MUPPET SHOW. It was Wednesday's No. 1 show among A18-49 (0.52)/A25-54 (0.69) across broadcast and cable, tripling the final installment of THE GOLDEN BACHELOR in the slot last fall.

It averaged 3.1M same-day viewers, improving on ABBOTT (2.8M) lead-in
