“Dancing With the Stars” is on pace to be the first (non-sports) network show in FIVE YEARS to average a ≥ 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 for its first airing (ie, no streaming or DVR). In a time when most shows get half or more of their 18-49s from streaming, that’s kind of remarkable.

ICYMI, I spent the entire day on Friday watching Netflix's "Monster: The Ed Gein Story" and then reviewing it.

It was neither an appealing activity nor an appealing show. Audiences keep lapping up these shows about how the audiences lapping the shows up are the REAL monsters.

I’m so struck by this video. A regular day in Logan Square in front of a grocery store and ICE pulls up and tear gassed people. Funston Elementary School is right across the street as well. This is a major corridor in Logan Sq. No concern for human safety

There weren’t a ton of them on last week, and in same day ratings (which these are) they’re disadvantaged compared to live sports and news shows. After a week of streaming etc I’d expect to see High Potential and maybe a Law & Order climb up.

Of interest to maybe just me and @tvmojoe.bsky.social, but Nielsen is now putting out ratings reports that aren’t segregated by daypart (prime, daytime, late nite) or cable/broadcast/live streaming. So you can see Kimmel’s return was No. 17 on all of TV last week. It’s gold for us ratings dorks.
