One of the reasons i cannot totally turn my back on some Woody Allen films is because i never want to forget some of the greatest performances I've ever seen, such as Diane Keaton in pretty much everything she did with him. I know that's hard for some to understand, but la-di-da.

Cena is a revelation as a dramatic actor. Long established as vv funny, Cena kills it when the show turns dramatic. @avclub.com said he has a "Buster Keaton face," and I say that's a fair comp. And a pivotal moment in S1 was simply Cena playing the piano during a low point for the character.

I'm four episodes into the new Peacemaker season and it rocks hard. I continue to think the Peacemaker series is the best thing Gunn has ever done. It's hilarious and still manages to dig deep into the characters' broken psyches for real drama. And the new opening song and dance number is terrific.

It's can't even be just one story of many that then moves, but rather it should symbolize Republicans and cause a complete and permanent change in ongoing media coverage of this Trump/Republican regime.

That @nytimes.com, @washingtonpost.com, @cnn.com, @npr.org, among many others, aren't reporting this as a major story and using it to define this administration as illegal and fascist makes them not just awful places doing little to no journalism. It also makes them full on collaborators.

ICE secretly kidnap autistic boy during bathroom break—never notify parents.

Someone just liked this old post and i got a kick out of reading the alt text i wrote after some heavy duty pain meds had kicked in. A lot of typos and some stream of consciousness writing.

Okay, alt text. I was in some pain before and waited for the meds to kick in. But here it is now, albeit in medicated form. And you better fking read it because, as you will see, i put the work in. A lot of business in these images, which is why it had to wait until i was a bit more pain free.

This four panels with Sophie, a child, and Lying Cat, a very large blur-green cat (think of a panther maybe, but, again, an alien species) who can speak but one word (Lying), which the cat only speaks when detecting a lie, at which it is infallible. A log of dialogue, so I'll summarize. Sophie, the former child sex slave (still a child, but not a sex slave now) is listing things about herself while the cat dozes. She says things like get name and regular kid stuff until she gets to get past and describes herself as "dirty inside" because of her past. This causes the cat perk up and say LYING. In the next panel, Sophie is hugging Lying Cat.

Holy shit a lot here. Going to really summarize. A child and her teacher speaking of a book. They are in the prison camp. They are both aliens, but very different aliens. One is humanoid with wings and horms (hey, interracial storyline going on here!), and the teacher is bug like with wings and a humanoid-ish face. Child is telling teacher how hey parents met because of this book, and they rave about how this book changed them both and has all the answers.

Teachers says: No offense to your family, but anyone who thinks one book has all the answers hasn't read enough books.

Child, in narration: Of all the things my first teacher taught me, that's the one that stuck.

Ghus, alien who looks like a, i dunno, humanoid-ish baby seal covered in white fur. It walks upright and wears clothes. Here it is wearing a shirty-sweatery kind of thing over it's torso, no pants (but no sex organs visible, more child like, even tho Ghus decidedly not a child and kind of a badass). Also Ghus is wearing a porkpie kind of fishing hat like Henry Blake in MASH (jesus, am i old). This is good because Ghus is holding a fishing rod and fishing with it while standing on the back of a GIANT alien walrus-y creature that's napping while floating on the water. The artwork is incredible, especially considering it is blurrily recreated in mirror image in the water. A striking image all the way around.
