Kind of a tool, but I mean well. I also have too many hobbies, plus my kids’ hobbies, so I’m bad at all of them.
A couple of weeks ago, I noted that Nazi parades by groups like Patriot Front have basically disappeared while kidnappings by similarly masked ICE “agents” have gone up.

Apparently DHS hired their communications team, too. The US government is directly parroting Nazi “blood and soil” propaganda.

I’ve reached the denial phase of middle age where I see an older professional athlete and think, “Jeez, look at that haggard old guy,” only to find out he’s younger than me.

Also stronger, faster, and richer.

Any time I start to get down on myself, I get a notice that someone tried to steal my identity and someone else had to buy me a year of credit monitoring.

So, I’ve got that going for me.

🎶 Brave Sir Michael ran away.
Bravely ran away away.
When Epstein reared his ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Michael turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.

****Bravely**** taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the braaaave, Sir Michael!

There are only two possibilities: MAGA lied about an Epstein client list to Pizzagate the libs for Trump, or they’re burying it now because Trump’s on the list. Unlike a monorail, you can get off this ride anytime.

When do you need to credit AI for your work?

An analogy: you want to give your friend a cake. You can either bake a cake from scratch, make it from a box, or order it from a baker.

What? It’s perfectly reasonable for a president to make his army parade for him on his birthday.

I’m normally in favor of nuclear power as a safe, clean, and efficient source of energy. But, in a government where competence has been purged for party loyalty? A DOE of Fox News personalities hired for their pro-Trump essays?

That’s how you get Chernobyl.

Decades after a tense N.H. protest, nuclear energy has become a rare bipartisan issue. Here’s why. - The Boston Globe
The technology is bringing Democrats and Republicans together, but for different reasons. And challenges to expanding it remain.

Anyone noticing a lot fewer n@zi parades now that they all have jobs in ICE?

My favorite little bit in The Cask of Amontillado is where Fortunato’s all-in to stomp through catacombs for wine, but is briefly worried whether Montresor is a mason because he didn’t know the secret hand gesture after drinking. So Montresor shows him his trowel to keep him moving.

We all read #blessed as “bless-ed,” right? Like Shakespearean characters after stubbing their toe or checking out a cool knife in Act II that will definitely cause Problems in Act IV?

Just me? Okay.

Biggest Nashville takeaway: country music is like baseball. It’s more tolerable live.

ICE arrested the mayor of Newark. Time to call your senators and representatives to get this administration and DHS back under control.

Tariffs are just a sneaky way for Republicans to get what they’ve always wanted: a sales tax on you so millionaires and billionaires can have lower income taxes.

Is it bad to lose 12 months of economic growth in only two days?

I don’t know. It seems bad to me. But I haven’t bankrupted several businesses, including a casino, before.

Seeing Trumpers in my town with signs supporting NIMBY liberal candidates for our Select Board demonstrates how little difference exists between “not in my backyard” and “not in my country.”

If there’s anything we need to remember as people wring their hands and ask “what can we do?”

It’s that none of this is new.

Silver lining: This was kind of a nice subtle reminder that Donald Rumsfeld isn’t alive anymore.

But, yes, the Trump administration is absolutely removing all the guardrails that previously prevented him from using the military on US soil against civilians in his last term.
Five former defense secretaries condemned Trump’s firing of senior military leaders as “reckless” and urged Congress to reject their replacements.

I had a choice with this one from two years ago: shelve it for another four years, or just say fuck it and finally put it out there now.

You’ll get why when you see it.

But my premise still stands: it’s okay to like things that taste good but don’t hurt.

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too.

EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them.
