Usually I’d bristle at the distance between some of the checkpoints in Wanted Dead but I think, even on easy mode, they pushed me to really learn the game in a way more frequent ones wouldn’t.

Great game despite many flaws.

Is it like, good and worth recommending for everyone? Probably not. But it’s a lot neater than I expected. And actually made me interested enough in SAO to grab the first audiobook.

I have only tried a few multiplayer runs but I’ve also found this weird 5 parties with one goal but competing for rank really fascinating, taking equal parts battle royale and monster hunter.

Just finished the Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream campaign.

I have a soft spot for the fatal bullet game which I consider despite many faults, genuinely an excellent time.

So seeing Dimps try another SAO game with guns got me excited.

I bought Genei Ibun Roku back on the Wii U at launch.

Today finally I have finished Tokyo Mirage Sessions Encore on switch and… it was a pretty darn good time!

I really adored its extremely offense focused design that gave it a really unique feel and the songs were wonderful!

Given the general trend of high priced remasters it makes me think these actually do significantly better than any of those cheaper efforts in the past.

Should you be upset about Mario galaxy? Maybe? I’m torn I think games should be cheap and accessible. But also I saw that when Sony did the ps2 10-$15 classics on ps3 more or less the exact way and price point everyone seems to want it just didn’t work out?

It always feels weird how it seems a lot can pass by until Nintendo does it?

The good thing is though, if you don’t want to buy Mario galaxy for 40 usd you can buy a lot of neat stuff instead!

Should old games be $40? Hard to say. I think the going rate of 2-3 hd remasters for 1 retail game is pretty normal though? And we’ve got a lot of 50 dollar remasters like tales of graces and freedom wars?

Pricing is messy and weird and what value is for folks is different for everyone but

I gather the sequel "polishes up" a lot of this stuff giving you a more directly empowered tool kit from the get go, which I have mixed feelings about but I'll have to finish up this little joyous game first.

Frogun while not feeling awful at the start, really provides a lot of ways to be clever to make what at a glance is a slow platformer remarkably fun and expressive despite the simple kit.

Playing frogun made me realise something I'd long taken for granted, as while I'm not a great Umihara player, I know my toolkit. When you don't know the kit though, the game feels pretty eh.

I just have to gush about the Frogun for a moment.

I am not that far yet, but as a long long time Umihara fan, who has played a lot of grappling hook games, I kind of find that despite looks, Frogun might actually capture it best.

What is kind of interesting to me is that despite finishing that many games, actually most of what I finished this year has been things that in my system are listed as 0s, a lot of the stuff one might play an an anbernic and such.

Right now I've finished about 50,000 yen worth of games (factoring in discounts when bought), and while that's worth less than 500USD, a 20 dollar indie is usually a 2000 yen game so it's close enough.

So, last year. I had a problem that I actually went and calculated out how much money I spent on games that specifically, I did not play. Very upsetting results. This year, I am doing much better with that. and out of perverse curiosity tracking the cost of what I've finished this year.
