Thanks to everyone who has followed me here. I think this place promises to be great, perhaps a bit like Twitter in the early days.
Yes. I find it hard to believe that they are still using that platform.
I see Labour MPs all chuntering away on X as they discuss who might be selected as a Labour candidate - using a platform explicitly designed and run to destroy their party and any other party like it.

The talk of X being banned in the UK is worrying. I've largely stopped using it, apart from accounts I manage for various groups, but many still use it (including UK Labour), and a ban would be a serious over reaction. I can't see it happening, but you never know these days.

My review of 2025
As I said at the end of my 2024 review, 2025 would be very different from previous years. I am retired, although my Emeritus status means I keep my links with Keele, which I will talk about more later. The year began and ended in our house in Milton. It’s a nice house, and I feel lucky that we found it.

Dan Brown’s ‘The Secret of Secrets’ – some thoughts
First, this isn't a review, so don't be concerned about spoilers. It's just some of my thoughts on the book, which was greatly anticipated by many, including myself. I've read and enjoyed all of Dan's previous books from 'The Da Vinci Code' onwards, and had great expectations for this his latest book. The first thing to say is that it is seriously long - nearly 700 pages in the hardback version.
