The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here.

But, while we can, say it anyway.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Today we stand shoulder to shoulder with people of goodwill from all creeds and nationalities not only to remember all the victims of genocide, but to challenge the injustices we witness today, and the dogmatism and ideology that fuels them. #HMD

I’m lucky (being 66 years old) to have lived in an era when we in the UK were virtually measles-free. My luck is down to the wonderful NHS - but also to the fact that WE ALL GOT VACCINATED. Do the right thing, folks: get yourselves and your loved ones vaccinated.

UK Loses Measles Elimination Status After Nearly 3,000 Cases Reported in England and Wales

The World Health Organization says the UK has lost its measles elimination status after nearly 3,000 cases were reported in England and Wales in 2024.

The bar for best history book read in 2026 has been set high. Very high. A fabulous telling of the rivalry and clashes that marked the lives of Richard II and Henry IV. Fascinating account of events previously only familiar to me via Shakespeare. Read and relish.

A fascinating book, one that will stay with me. Not just the history of a person or a particular place at a particular time; but an exploration of what we can and can not know about the past. And of the qualities needed for survival and achievement. Hugely recommended.

NEW There's no overstating how significant the Nathan Gill case is. On Friday, the close associate of Nigel Farage was jailed for over 10 years for taking bribes ultimately from a friend of Putin. It's a complex, detail-heavy story that raises questions about Farage’s claim Gill was ‘one bad apple’🧵
