I agree with the idea that Trump should never have been on the ballot in 2016. The Republican National Committee showed terrible ethics and lack of civic responsibility when Trump became the presidential candidate.

Trump hates doing any work, AND, he disrespects anyone who’s not rich, so of course he won’t make the effort to create a real alternative to the Affordable Care Act.

A #WealthTax is needed to return a slice of prosperity to the society that generates 2 new billionaires a day but also deepening poverty and social strife. #WinnerTakeAllCapitalism is an aberrant version of capitalism, and requires a wealth tax to reset the weakening of labour in the economy.

Up until Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and Brian Mulrooney there were three partners in capitalism: government, business and labor. Reagan and the bunch unfettered business and reduced government involvement in the economy, so of course Business has abused labour and monopolized prosperity.

If Trump could be counted on to keep his word, then he would not be Trump, and every other country in the world would not be trying to find a more trustworthy business partner than America. Trump lies and changes his mind on a whim, but also he does it to be mean, to screw with other people. #hater

America does not need #socialism, but a return to the version of capitalism where workers and regular people shared in the prosperity of the nation. What America has right now is called Winner Take All Capitalism. It has funnelled almost all prosperity to the rich. So we need a #WealthTax to reset.

Corporate lawyers are some of the smartest, trickiest people. They find clever ways to siphon almost all the prosperity to corporations, and to minimize regulations. They work closely with lobbyists to twist politicians into corporate yes-men.

Trump is a #wealthist. So regardless of skin colour or ethnicity, he despises people for not being rich.

MAGA voters need to realize that Trump pretended to care about them. He doesn’t care about anyone who’s not rich. He lied to get elected. #ShittyPresident
If we’re going to talk about poverty, let’s do it honestly. Not with caricatures, not with code words—but with data, nuance, and a willingness to confront our assumptions.

Behind the scenes of America is a busy Court system trying hard (except for the Supreme Court) to thwart Trump becoming a true dictator.

I always find it interesting how the story changes when a lawyer gets to court. They can say anything they want outside of court without accountability but the rules are vastly different in court where you can get seriously penalized for lying.

That the lower and mid level courts are holding strong is vital to the future of America as a strong democracy.
I hope the Trump-favoring members of the federal Supreme Court are encouraged to do the right thing on tariffs and the Voting Rights Act.

This is what a lame duck looks like. The entire country knows it, even the GOP. If they don’t separate themselves from him - they’ll go down on the Trumptanic. 👇

So the DOJ decided to charge first, think later? 👀.

A federal judge just ripped into prosecutors over their “indict first, investigate second” approach to the Comey case calling it “highly unusual.” That’s not justice, that’s politics. #Comey #DOJ

Guideline #4 of the Dictator’s Guide to America says to not aggravate capable users of pitchforks.

“Whenever possible, pretend that you care about farmers, but remember that people can just go buy food at the grocery store so you don’t really need them.”

Having a grand ballroom brings you prestige and your subjects, humiliation. They must congratulate you. They must agree to all of your wishes. They are weak and you are the strongest man ever, in charge of the strongest country ever.

Let them eat cake, but in fear.

SNAP cannot be used to buy alcohol, but it is still common for people to cynically think SNAP funds are used wastefully. But studies show that parents are careful to provide as much high quality nutrition as possible.
