Fossil CO2 emissions are still growing in 2025 which is deeply unhealthy for the planet. There are signs that 2026 could see humanity finally turn the corner. Look at the trajectory for Coal, Oil and Gas.
If we can achieve the same reduction in growth 2024 to 2025, it'll turn negative in 2026.

My experience of replacing a 25 yr old gas boiler with a heat-pump provides 5 x more heat per unit in energy input.
Over the past 12 months heat-pump used 2580kWh of elec. for a total of 8755kWh heating and hot water. Assuming our old gas boiler was 75% efficient it have required 13149kWh of gas.

Truly remarkable: Poland used to be a climate laggard.
Today, wind and solar are increasingly replacing coal in the Polish electricity mix with almost 30% of all electricity generated to date this year from wind and solar.
In 2000 coal provided 95% of Polish electricity.
Today it is at 51%.

Solar prices have dropped from $128/Watt in 1975 to $0.26/Watt in 2024. This astonishing drop can be viewed on a linear scale, but this makes it look like price drops have dropped little in the past 20 years.
Logarithmic scale shows the relative price drops have accelerated since 2008!

@smmt-ukauto.bsky.social have published their UK October 2025 new car registration figures, with BEV and PHEVs both show strong growth while pure Petrol and Diesel segments shrinking.
If BEVs continue to follow this growth trajectory then they'll likely be half of UK new car sales in 2027.
