Trump is a provocateur. He is purposely deploying troops to American cities to deliberately provoke incidents that could lead to a broader manufactured crisis of HIS own making. It is purposely designed to normalize his authoritarian rule. This is to intimidate the political opposition. Call it out!

Sen. Mark Kelly, also a retired Captain, USN, said “He’s (Hegseth) going to prosecute me under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for… reciting the Uniform Code of Military Justice,” he told late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday. “You can’t make this shit up.”

This race is close and, given how much Democrats outperformed the polls a few weeks ago, a win is actually possible.

But even a narrow loss in a gerrymandered district Trump won by 22 points last year would be a sign of significant progress.

I look forward to the day when history calls them out. May it bring shame upon their families.
The prosecutor is a political hack and the approving judge is as well. They’ve made it clear.

when prosecutors are no longer lawyers for the people but for a would-be king, of course courts dismiss cases. but someday we'll have genuine accountability in this country, and history too will record how corruption & greed for power destroyed our democratic institutions and civic space.

Donald Trump & Pete Hegseth are too stupid to realize this, but their over-the-top response to Mark Kelly's video guaranteed that *far* more people in the military would hear its message than had they ignored it.

In Dismissing Georgia RICO Case, Peter Skandalakis Fabricates Jack Smith Conclusion - emptywheel
In his rationale dismissing the Georgia January 6 case, Peter Skandalakis misrepresents what Jack Smith said about the evidence against Donald Trump.

This Thanksgiving we want to make sure you’re ready to answer tough questions from *that* relative.

"Aren’t all politicians corrupt? Is Trump really that much worse?"

Yes, Trump is worse—and it’s not even close. Here’s why. 🧵

The 2020 Georgia election case is going to be dismissed in its entirety, with the prosecutor offering less-than-persuasive reasoning. A miscarriage of justice that weakens our democracy.

I increasingly think this 11th C opinion upholding decision throwing out Trump lawsuit is a BFD.

That's bc Chief Judge William Pryor and Trump appointee Andrew Brasher said much of what Trump wants to charge as CRIMINAL conspiracy is not one.

This captures the Trump era perfectly: an American operative advising a Kremlin official on how to manipulate the U.S. president through simple flattery.

“Call him a man of peace.”

Our foreign policy isn’t diplomacy anymore, it’s ego management.

And America can’t survive another term of it.👇

Here's how Trump turned the presidency into a personal piggybank:

-Charging millions for access at Mar-a-Lago.
-Trump Wines sold in Coast Guard exchanges.
-$300M in private donations for a WH ballroom.
-23 Trump properties developed abroad while in office.

Should we go on?
