Switching platforms, from Patreon to SubscribeStar

Around a year ago I had my first flagged post on Patreon. It's wasn't a post with NSFW art, it wasn't even a post with a chapter of my stories, it was simply a very short post with in it only the content warnings list of Dangerous Devotion.

For the past year, however, Patreon hadn't flagged anything else, so I was hoping it was only a one time thing (or hopefully a mistake). But just to be safe, I still made a page on SubscribeStar and re-posted old Patreon content as well as tried to post everything I posted there after that event (the only things I didn't bring over are quick updates about stories that are now already published, since those updates are not useful anymore). I was hoping to never have to make the switch but it looks like plans have changed.

In August of this year I posted on Patreon the first chapter of Fan Service, to give my subscribers a preview, but it was immediately flagged by Patreon as having "sexually gratifying work". Sure, it's smut, but if you read the platform's policies, it is actually still following their guidelines. I eventually emailed Patreon support and they answered with "we checked and it was a mistake, so now your post is visible again". You thought that would be it? Well, no. When I posted chapter two, the following morning I woke up to it being flagged as well.

This is currently happening only with my text posts and not the spicy art, but for all I know I might be flagged for that as well next time I post. I've seen some of the artists I follow on BlueSky saying they've been having this same issue of every post getting flagged on Patreon (and obviously for them it was for NSFW art).

Even if the stuff I post isn't actually against their policies and Patreon will put it back if I ask them directly, I shouldn't have to contact the platform every single time I post something, and live in the constant fear that the next time they'll answer their emails they'll say they'll close my account and "bye bye subscribers and money".

Switching to SubscribeStar is still going to be a loss, because statistically speaking not all of my subscribers will actually follow me there, either because they don't see the announcement or because they don't want to change site. But I'm sure you understand, it's impossible to go forward like this, when every day the platform makes it more and more difficult for adult creators to exist.

NOTE: SubscribeStar has all the art and main text posts I posted on Patreon in the last year+, and it's also connected to my discord server, so you'll still have access to it even when switching platform. The prices are also the same.
