RoboFist 3.0 : You Can [Not] Be Relevant Again Former "local culture anthropologist" crawling back to social media for the first time in three years, pitifully seeking validation from strangers by yapping into the abyss.

This platform is so weird and I don't know how to use it, so I'm just going to start archiving the games I've beaten this year with a blurb or two of my thoughts.

(I'm not used to reviewing games in less than 300 characters, so this will be an experiment if nothing else 🤷‍♂️)
The fact that it's from Spy Kids 2 is what makes it so funny though. It'd be like if the "tears in rain" monologue instead originated from Secret Life of Pets 2.

Switch Pro but it's been nice having a Switch Pro
I hate myself for how much I wasted on this stupid game just to get that "Albus and Shanoa" card dangling RIGHT on the edge.

I'm the problem.
This is CRUCIAL news, thank you.
Be the change you want to see in this world, Matt.
I will be forever grateful that I discovered and bought your book mere WEEKS before you said they were officially sold out.
Hypno bellydancer is TRAGICALLY underutilized.
Remember screamers?

"Dude, watch this video. With headphones. What, no I'm not laughing at anything, I promise!"

The internet has always been uniquely cruel, it's just that the first generation born into the internet has grown up learning HOW to be cruel FROM the internet.
Plus, aside from giving the creators a slight rep boost, all award shows are dumb and we shouldn't be taking the results too seriously.

Dust off a DVD copy of The King's Speech and tell me it's a better film than The Social Network or the remake of True Grit. Academy says it is and they wrong.
Bayo 2, Mario Maker, Odyssey, SSBU, New Horizons, Dread, Xenoblade Chronicles 3(!), TotK, Wonder, ALL viewed by people in the biz as an example of the BEST. And BotW took one home.

That's not nothing. The amount of nominations alone prove that thesis wrong.
Eh, TGA are like the Oscars in the sense that being nominated (or snubbed) for Game of the Year should be the more important thing in the eyes of audiences. Win or lose, SO MANY eyes are now on your game.

Whoever wins the statue is usually a case of inner-industry politics anyway 🤷‍♂️
Not including either one of them as a pack-in title will eventually haunt SOMEONE at the top of Nintendo, right? Surely?
Didn't take long for me either, she's a real one.

The FUCK?
Here's the related story. "Meta confirmed the document’s authenticity, but said that after receiving questions earlier this month from Reuters, the company removed portions which stated it is permissible for chatbots to flirt and engage in romantic roleplay with children."
Meta’s AI rules have let bots hold ‘sensual’ chats with children
An internal Meta policy document reveals the social-media giant’s rules for chatbots, which have permitted provocative behavior on topics including sex and race.

Still a top 5 video game controller in my eyes.

The Jim Henson x General Mills Monster Cereal Muppet collab bowls arrived this morning! It would've been a Halloween miracle!

...but Count Chocula didn't make it...

I didn't know they were ceramic! Looks like Franken and Boo are chilling with the good china until a new Count gets here.

I'll quickly note that my heart breaks pretty much every day when I see all the awful stuff going on. My silence on it isn't acceptance; I just don't use this particular social channel to talk about it.

You've also got to do something for yourself. For me, it's talking about video games on Bsky!

Castlevania is still the coolest idea anyone ever came up with. big ol house party for monsters and Dracula is the host, a simple overarching plotline that connects all the games together that's easy to understand, and a sub weapon gameplay mechanic that got better and better over time
One of the most soul-ascending moments I've seen in any film was in John Wick 3, a dog gets shot by some dudes, Wick and his dog immediately kill all of them, and then it's immediately revealed that the first dog was rocking a secret bulletproof vest and was perfectly fine.

More bulletproof dogs!
Happy belated anniversary to what may very well be my favorite video game franchise.

9. Drill Dozer
☆☆☆☆

I've beaten it before, but this is my first time replaying it WITH the secret challenge levels.

This game is one of the great puzzle platformers on the GBA. Super fun time. I mourn the timeline where GameFreak tweaked the clunky controls for a DS sequel and Jill got into Smash.
1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

This might be a contender for my favorite damn game of all time.

The hype is dead now, sure, but the game's "EVERYONE IS HERE" thesis felt like a historical celebration, a reward for those who stuck through, and a strangely emotional finale all rolled into one.
