Republican officeholders who think this is going to work out well for them should read some history about what happens to pre-revolutionary factions once the violence starts. Or, they should read the room. We're just about past the last exit.

In the same way we've renamed the Department of Defense to the Department of War, maybe rename the Department of Justice to the Department of Persecution? At least we'd have truth in advertising.
Donald Trump has added two more names to his hit list: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/trum...

The bigger issue is that every democracy in the world is one election away from their own Trump, albeit one not as senile and sloppy. A lot of people hate the liberal order so much they'll throw away freedom, security and material progress to see it dead.

Kudos to #SDCC for listening to fans and pros and reversing the ill-conceived policy around AI in their Art Show. Machines can make images but only humans can make art.

'Dilbert' by #ScottAdams, who died today, perfectly captured the absurdity of the moment in the early 90s when grandiose management theories melded with the emerging high-tech workplace. Then it captured something else. Obit today on @forbes www.forbes.com/sites/robsal...
Controversial ‘Dilbert’ Cartoonist Scott Adams Dies At Age 68
'Dilbert' defined workplace humor in the 90s and 2000s, even as its creator's politics hardened over the past decade.

So House Dems are opposed to invading Greenland because it's not sufficiently beneficial for American quality of life? That's the objection? What are we doing here, folks?
Republican extremists are obsessed with Greenland.

What does any of this have to do with making your life better?

Not a damn thing.

Thought #1: US troops in Venezuela means fewer US troops to deploy against 'domestic enemies' in the US. Hooray?
Thought #2: Venezuela is where Hegseth sends units with suspect loyalty, so they are safely out of the country when Trumpist forces crack down.

Any pundit, expert or journalist who describes what's going on as remotely normal or rational needs to be permanently disqualified from public discourse.
Just awful: David Sanger, an experienced and knowledgeable correspondent for the NYT, is forthrightly describing this as an "American occupation." Done without any Congressional authorization or even any consultation with our key elected representatives.
