Just found out that Murder on the Marlow Belle is a USA Today bestseller in the States. Yee, as I'm sure no-one actually says, ha! Thank you to EVERYONE who's bought the book, and to the brilliant team at @poisonedpenpress.bsky.social who've helped Judith & Co. find so many new friends in the USA 🇺🇸

I have the worst possible answer I'm afraid, and that is.... I made a mistake in the book. Can you believe it? But because The Commissioner in the TV show is always referred to as 'The Commissioner' I completely misremembered his surname. It's a cause of some embarrassment to say the least.

A beautiful obit of Cleo Laine in The Times this morning. I spent hours and hours listening to her albums as a teenager. Just adored her. I'm also delighted to report that the Beneath The Line comments absolutely delivered as I hoped they would.

I'm tin-rattling! The primary school writers room I run has produced a cracking script for our latest short film (comedy, time-travel). If we can muster a decent total by next Monday (July 21st) we can apply for matching funding from the county council and we hope go for a Spring shoot.

* obvs people only die in terrible weather but it’s worth bearing it in mind as the context. (Honestly, it’s 100% safe if you realise it’s a bit dangerous). And my eye, the views!!! So so worth it.

Absolutely fine! But! As per your other response, you need proper walking boots and beware, every year people die falling off it*. My experience is that you’re so worried, you don’t go near the edge (I barely dared standing up)… and the last bit is a scramble up when you’d hope there’d be a path.
