This is an emergency situation and the cats need to be placed ASAP. @rocketcatrescue.bsky.social is willing to take some of the special needs cats but we need fosters for either them or some of the existing cats in our program.

There is another rescue local to us that is shutting down and we could really use some fosters- looking for people within reasonable driving distance of Suisun City, CA (must be willing to travel to Vacaville for vet appointments) all supplies will be be covered.

Meet the newest catsronauts for this year!
We pulled these two kittens with eyelid agenesis to socialize with our little blind single kitten, Maelle, when their quarantine is up.
All three will be moving to foster after we get through initial assessment of their eye conditions and treat them. They’ll be up for adoption when ready!

In a bit of good news, Charcoal, our resident CH cat/Halloween toy is off with a foster on a foster to adopt contract! We are very excited for both her and her new mom and hoping to continue hearing good things!

It has been a rough week. We had to say goodbye to the OG, the leader of the tribe, Space Ghost (coast2coast). 11 years was longer than we thought we would get. But also still not long enough for all the love in that boy. He is what inspired us to get into rescue, and inspired our logo.
We had to say goodbye to Space Ghost last weekend. He started having urinary blockages again due to scar tissue building up after the three surgeries (two botched PU surgeries and sabotage/repair) eight years ago. There was no more healthy skin to work with for any additional surgical intervention.

Up at the veterinary neurologist for a consult for Teddy. They want to do an MRI on him and a spinal tap to try to get to the bottom of his seizures and abnormal gait. Waiting on the estimate before we can start figuring out what we need to raise.

Teddy is also going to see a neurologist in the morning for his seizures, and my 15 year old personal cat w/ kidney disease needs to see the vet too. We’re dealing with a lot right now. Have a curly Ann Purrkins belly for your time:

So we were very pleased that Sparrow was adopted & has a great new home! However, 8 days after making it to his new home, he developed a urinary blockage and had to be rushed to an emergency vet. We offered to help because it happened so soon after adoption, but somehow the estimate it up to 15k?

This guy is seeing a cardiologist on Thursday to find out more about his heart condition. We were hoping he’d grow out of the murmur (or that it was virally induced) but at this point it’s almost certainly a structural issue.
I’m hoping it’s relatively benign or something that can be treated.

This guy is seeing a cardiologist on Thursday to find out more about his heart condition. We were hoping he’d grow out of the murmur (or that it was virally induced) but at this point it’s almost certainly a structural issue.
