The latest Digital Circus episode is an important illustrator of how good voice acting (and good acting in general) really depends on the writing giving the actors something to work with.

The final boss fight on Pokemon ZA Mega Dimension has an attack that causes the framerate to dip.

Up until a few years ago I considered the games I was making to be primarily “portfolio work” to get me a job at a larger studio.
While I still want to one day graduate from being a solo dev, I no longer particularly want to join a big studio, and this video has a lot of reasons why.

I agree with a lot of the conclusions here, and I call attention again to my own article about indie game discoverability.
There’s a reason I didn’t put much of the blame/responsibility on storefronts, because in many ways, I feel like they ARE doing the most they can on this front.

The reason I haven’t felt bad buying the DLC for Bananza or Pokemon ZA is that neither game felt incomplete without the DLC. I’m not paying for “the rest of the game,” I’m paying for more of a thing I liked.

Random Metroid Prime 4 Tip: If you’re ever stuck on a boss and not sure what to do, try scanning it again, even if you’ve already scanned it. Most bosses have unique scan text for each of their phases.
There’s one particular boss where this was very useful for me to discover so I’m passing it on.

Okay, Metroid Prime 4 took a couple hours to get going, but now it's REALLY hooked me.
It's still very different from previous Metroid Prime games. (In a lot of ways it reminds me of Prime 3 more than anything.) But it's a fun weird space adventure like Metroid should be.

Metroid Prime 4 Early Impressions: If you wanted a remake of Metroid Prime 1, play the fucking remake of Metroid Prime 1. This game goes for a unique vibe and tone (like *ALL* Metroid Prime games do) and I'm really enjoying it for that.
