I'm actually kind of impressed that there are still districts there where RINO-types wouldn't automatically be fully squeezed out. I guess we'll see how this goes!

There are few things as tempting in this world to the average white man as a run for some sort of public office. Maybe he'll learn & go run for state house some day (and honestly if he's not super out-there he might have better luck as a D!)

Any 2028 contender who pledges to have the wrecking ball roll in at 12:01 pm on January 20, 2029 and knock this thing down gets to check off basically the political equivalent of a free space.

This is like a free couple % in the primary polls.
We have our clearest picture yet of what the White House ballroom will look like — and how views of the grounds will change.

New renderings by the project architect were briefly available on a federal website today before being pulled down.

New images of White House ballroom show it would match mansion’s height
The planned 90,000-square-foot project would represent the most significant change to the White House grounds in decades.

So early! Kids these days, man...

Good luck!

Options...
- Go to a bar or bar-like setting and just people-watch/get some good food? (Doesn't even have to be a 21+ place. Wife and her bff used to go to Chili's. I used to just sit in common room sometimes & chat as people came & went.)
- Campus sporting event?
- On-campus club/culture events?

Well I think this is tied to the Mike Tyson "I was so fat and nasty" MAHA ad from the Super Bowl, so yes!

You can't convince me this isn't just a composite of every draft night outfit worn by 2002's lottery picks.

This RFK post is what you find when you look up "bro thinks ts is tuff 💔🥀" in the Gen Alpha slang-to-English dictionary.
By real food he of course means the most overdone tasteless steak anyone has ever seen

Wait I just checked and that was the same year as the Drake Laroche stuff??

Somehow all the worst people on 2021/2022 COVID Twitter have jobs running US public health.

Just to be a bit fair to him, some clearer context re: 2020. He wanted herd immunity and laid it out in the "Great Barrington Declaration," despite it being eminently clear it would cause mass death.

He advocated for herd immunity, with no concern for the mass death part.
February 13, 2026 at 11:27 PM
Throwback but Jay Bhattacharya, the NIH Director behind this, has a long, steady record of being pro-COVID.

In 2020, he wanted mass COVID death to get "herd immunity." Then he wanted no restrictions so virus could run free. And more recently he has tried to limit access to the COVID vaccine.
Sure sure let’s order the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) to end all pandemic preparedness and biodefense work.

WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
Exclusive: Key US infectious-diseases centre to drop pandemic preparation
Staff members have been instructed to scrub this topic and ‘biodefense’ from the agency’s website.

Good choice, but I'm worried about that final.

(Also flip side is when there's a win the emotions are *insane*!)

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Thanks!

And it was honestly more of a wow in retrospect because I only went since they were super close to me.

I saw people posting like "I came from Buffalo to see them!" or "I got an urge and drove in from Wisconsin!" And I'm just like... "I walked two blocks past a Sweetgreen..."

And somehow it's always the Maryland plates, never DC or VA

This is from about a year ago, but I get the sense that if Stephen A Smith runs for president, his comments and media appearances lend themselves a lot more to running as a Republican than as a Democrat.

Really don't know what the audience is for him in a Dem primary unless he does a hard-left turn
Stephen A Smith just had Tom Fucking Homan on his show talking about how Trump's immigrant crackdown is the most compassionate choice.

We're done with him, yeah?

I got to see the monks walking for peace and snap some pictures with my fancy camera! bsky.app/profile/roey...
Got to see the monks pass by as they walked through Arlington on their 2,300-mile Walk for Peace this afternoon.

This is near the end for them, as they will be in Washington tomorrow, before heading into Maryland for a bus back home to their monastery in Texas.

For like, actual Congress? Not state House?

I need the tea here… and wait, D or R?

Also paging @mixedlinguist.bsky.social because she would both eat this whole thread up and possibly have some explanations on the linguistic sounds & regional variations at play here!

Somewhere in between for adjective, but closer to the first one.

Closer to the second one on exactly.

Basically use the same "c" sound. Kind of a "kuh" but without blowing the air all the way out of my mouth.

From North/Central New Jersey, then have lived in DC area for about a decade.

It could also be someone who ran for Congress in another state, dumping on Jeb's results across Iowa's four districts?

Like this person might have gotten more votes (in their run in a non-Iowa state) than Jeb did (in Iowa.)

Did not have “Ray Allen goes full ‘V for Vendetta’ over the Epstein files and ICE” on my 2026 bingo card, but here we are.
