Felt I'd be spiting the Lord if I violated Koufax's Law but honestly had I known what was coming, attending all 18 innings would've been enough atonement, I'm sure.

As someone who lived in DC I remember it as the Vic Carapazza ump show. His strike zone that day was just kinda floating around.

Also respect to Yusmeiro Petit. He was built for exactly the situation the Giants deployed him for that day.

The NWSL game across the street at Lumen Field started when this game at Safeco was in like, the 7th or the 8th.

There are about 10 minutes (plus a bit of stoppage time) to go and it will probably end before this game does.

This game is the best argument yet that the zombie runner should be removed for good. This baseball is amazing.

Baseball can be this at any point in the season, not just playoffs, and Rob Manfred is denying it from us.

Some fairly big NWSL news here.

The post here mentions the successes on commercial and expansion fronts, which feel like the thrust behind offering another contract.

But I’m really interested in what will happen on the player safety front given the controversies this year.

I feel like because it airs at night, we think to ourselves, "oh wow, how is it still on?"

When really, we should probably be thinking of its time horizon more like a daytime soap.

We'll all come and go and General Hospital will still be on the air, and Grey's feels like that now.

I’m not familiar since I’m out of the loop on USL Super League. Had thought of it as a bit “less than,” but seeing players like Abiodun and Sam Meza translate quickly to NWSL has changed that.

What parts of her game do you think would help her click in NWSL or with the Spirit?

The depth without her definitely runs thin quickly.

The more firm use of Metayer in those spaces helps a bit but beyond that, it's all people in their second/third positions (Wiesner, Abiodun, etc.)

I'd be interested if they fill it via trade/intraleague FA, college, or from internationally.
