Interesting article about 996 (over)work culture, but aren't BBC News using this OECD data in precisely the way the footnote says you shouldn't?

Last night there was a vigil for the first cycling fatality of the year on London's streets. I was there. Here are some thoughts (no paywall).

If this strikes a chord with you, please comment on the post and share.

Interesting article from #BBCDevon on Plymouth artist Beryl Cook:
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Reporter got a bit confused over her bio – she lived in Africa in her 20s after marrying, not as a child, and she and her husband bought the Plymouth guesthouse, not her parents

Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.
Thank you.

The UK government didn't want you to see this report on ecosystem collapse. I'm not surprised | George Monbiot
It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For ‘doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

@milesodavis.bsky.social I appreciate your reporting on Devon for the BBC. But Heavitree Road is not "*the* main road in and out of #Exeter" as there was several others and it's not even a route signposted from the M5. Also why put 'traffic island' in scare quotes? It's hardly a new term.

@lukemintz.bsky.social I honestly can't decide if "the race cycling industry" is referring to the cycle racing industry (does such a thing exist in Britain?) or the recycling industry

Salary sacrifice is a poor way of subsidising.

More cash for those with higher tax rates (meaning more income) is the opposite of what we should be doing - getting solar panels onto the rooves of fuel poor families. Poorer families have less salary to sacrifice, meaning less or no subsidy for them

Okay, that's enough @devonlive.com, I'm finally deleting your app. On the same day, you've published:

* A sub-head stating HMRC is "the tax arm of the Labour Party"

* An entirely one-sided article opposing a closure to through motor traffic that you admit to writing on commission

Goodbye.
