It is INFURIATING to watch media outlets trivialize the destruction of democracy by turning it into a (rigged) game. Constant gambling messaging has ruined sports, so why not every other aspect of life?

Settle an argument for me: Do you really care about any NFL pregame hosts “picks”? I am of the opinion of “just show me the game.” I don’t give a crap who Gronk thinks is gonna win.

I guess I need to say this since some people have lost their minds: I don’t care about baseball right now.

I am concerned about the safety of Venezuelan baseball players and their families—who are sheltering in place—after our country illegally bombed them to steal their oil.
There are a lot of MLB players and prospects from Venezuela. Been texting with people in several front offices and nobody knows how this is going to impact players and their families’ ability to get out. A total clusterfuck.

If you think winter is long, go work for a baseball team. “Next year”comes really quick!
A friend in baseball once told me:

It's amazing how far away spring training feels on Dec. 31 ...

And how close it feels on Jan. 1

Just to prove that ...

The first spring training game of 2026 is 7 weeks from today!

Feel warmer yet?

Once again, Times Square looks like the worst place to be on NYE. What is the appeal?

Ian Beck’s artwork for this album is iconic. I’ve owned a copy for 30 years and I always find something new when I look at it.

This is a horrible path, but completely unsurprising. The gamification of this horrible timeline is getting much worse. Just traveling through Detroit, 80% of the billboards are encouraging “get rich quick” schemes: Lottery, Gambling, Personal Injury Lawyers with “GET PAID” everywhere….

During the past six months, virtually every civic organization in Southern California has put out a statement denouncing ICE activity. Yet LA28, the private nonprofit that serves as LA's Olympic and Paralympic organizing committee, and aspires to be a civic organization, has said nothing
Why won't LA28 support LA's immigrants?
"An Olympics and Paralympics security plan that gives control to a federal administration that is already attacking immigrants in our city and across the nation puts our entire community at risk"

Every single wound that MLB has endured since 1901 has been self-inflicted.
Rob Manfred's ineptitude cost MLB a billion bucks in ESPN money, to make up for it he's selling off MLB dot TV to ESPN, and now he's claiming that makes up for it? What if he had NOT fucked up and lost a billion dollars and STILL sold MLB dot TV? Would that not have been better?
After near-billion-dollar blunder, MLB's Rob Manfred puts on rally cap with new TV deals

two parts mayonnaise
one part ketchup
some Worcestershire sauce
some garlic powder
layer of black pepper

every finger place sauce is basically this, and it’s the only thing that makes Cane’s decent because they don’t season their chicken
There’s one copy, it’s locked in a safe at an undisclosed location and few people have seen it. It’s not an ancient manuscript. It’s the recipe for the sauce behind a chicken chain’s rise. 🔗 on.wsj.com/4oPPryS

i can’t talk about sports gambling anymore without sounding like a crank but i do believe legalized sports gambling is like 15-20% responsible for our current dystopia
The Athletic polled hundreds of players from across the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL about their opinions surrounding how sports betting impacts players — the responses were haunting.

The Edmund Fitzgerald sank 50 years ago today. The next year, the singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot chronicled the tragedy in an unlikely hit single.
