An unintended consequence of the death of cursive writing is the fact that there are dedicated people on the internet that have to decode signatures because people can’t read them. If I were a celebrity I’d make sure to sign every letter of my name legibly so future generations would know.

Wonder if Progressive or GEICO is pleased with this setup. #mlb #SportsBiz

I had a whole story ready to publish about this convention center vote, but Yaroslavsky's speech — one of the most powerful I’ve ever seen on the council floor — said it better than I ever could. It's a must-read, and I also included a link to the video
"This expansion is unrealistic, unaffordable, and fiscally irresponsible"
Katy Yaroslavsky's words are about the city's convention center — but they are really about the city

At this point it's not that he doesn't get the fact that we're in an existential battle for the survival of American democracy. It's that he doesn't give a shit. bsky.app/profile/atru...

Did anyone else catch the “flag” thrown on the field in the Cincy game?

I miss the days when every other ad during football wasn't a gambling ad. I hate it so much.

A fan threw a green sex toy on the field during the Bengals-Browns game at Huntington Bank Field on Sunday. A referee threw the object to the sideline, and a security guard later moved it out of view.

The WNBA dealt with multiple instances of sex toys being thrown onto the court this summer.

Has anyone invented an app that blocks all gambling/betting ads? It’s so damn hard to just watch a football game. I’d almost prefer prescription drug ads.

This is awesome: a "WKRP in Cincinnati" fan created a three-hour Johnny Fever radio block, by using clips from the TV show and dropping in the full songs on his intros and outros, plus commercials and Les Nessman news breaks.

If you're still on substack, you are letting techbro dildos use your left-leaning journalism to launder right-wing extremism and it's just a terrible idea. You should stop doing that

NEW: Since giving NYT hacked info from a Nazi and sending a swastika push alert, Substack's extremism is in the spotlight again. An investigation finds Substack is a haven for newsletters dedicated to white supremacy—with the co-founders' blessing.

A collab between @katz.theracket.news and me:
Substack’s extremist ecosystem is flourishing
The app's recent swastika push alert was just the tip of the iceberg.

I took a group of 40 people to this game. We paid for $50 worth of concessions 6 months ago. We are not crossing the picket line. We confirmed with the striking workers that the team store is not staffed by them, so we brought in food and will be spending our credits there without scabbing. ✊✊✊

I wonder why….🤔
It’s almost like gambling is being incessantly pushed by leagues, teams and media companies. Too bad the text in locker rooms warning players about gambling isn’t in a font as big as the signs on the Jumbotron, outfield walls, suite levels and highlight clips….
