It’s worth noting that spending on ICE, DHS and state + local police is higher than the amount that China spends on its entire military.
Most of this year's ICE budget comes from last year's reconciliation bill. House Democratic leaders discouraged its members from offering amendments eliminating that funding. Didn't want the party to come across as anti-ICE.

People in ICE better hope this ends through the courts and life sentences because, historically, it doesn’t work out when the people are pushed over the edge.
