A cost-benefit analysis found that for every €1 invested, society receives €1.39 back.

But even work-related connections, like how every support is an AI assistant or a voice box, and to be able to talk with a real himan operator is a whole Odysseus quest, if it's even possible.

It's just marketing, half the AI is just the predictive text feature on a phone with extra thieving bits, the rest is just complex algorithms and stuff that was already being used in professional environments way before marketing called it AI.
It's all smoke.

My right arm hurting is approaching it being a week-long problem but I have shit to do and I can't just not do anything.
I things to draw and draws to thing and I'm already not getting paid so if I stop doing this too it's really the end.

It's almost as if AI lovers only seek approval and don't really want the opinions of actual artists and creative people, because they know those people would just flip the bird at them.

Maybe one day we'll truly develop an AI that's actually an artificial intelligence like we see in movies, who wll have autonomous ideas. But that day is still far, far away and likely won't be seen by anyone who's alive on this planet today.

Sure you can do it but... it means the thing you're doing doesn't really interest you much. Which is fine as a concept, nobody can be interested in everything, but it's still presented as something EVERYONE should do for EVERYTHING, including things we enjoy.

I keep getting this ChatGPT ad about a girl in a cosmetic store asking the bot which product is better for her dry skin instead of... just asking... the people WORKING there? The damn professionals?
It's so surreal, and I say this as someone who hates interacting with people irl.

They don't want kid heroes, they don't want teen heroes, they don't want adult heroes, they want an unholy mix of everything that ultimately doesn't work.

This. For those people, the whole process of actually making art is a chore, like washing dishes - that's why they often compare using AI to using a dishwasher, as if they were the same thing, as if a mechanical job was the same of a creative job.

because uncreative people don't want to be creative. They don't want to make a film, they don't want to write a book, they don't want to make art. They want to just be a filmmaker, an author, an artist. Art is a means to an end, not the end in itself for them.

Because god forbid the spice you add is too much. We don't want adults to read about how babies are actually made after all. So spice yes to leave readers tingling but more than that it becomes automatically yucky for some reason.

They want the "next Hunger Games" aka a book that defines a whole period or even a whole genre, without being willing to risk to find it, and expecting it to just magically appear into well defined and well marketable boxes.
