Writing is just kind of too mentally draining for me. It's not something I particularly enjoy anymore. And that's not even touching upon the fandom trauma I've experienced.

And you know what, that's okay. We can't expect ourselves to be the jack-of-all-trades.

I think in general I do have a decent knack at writing. My instructors say I'm very thorough and people have told me they enjoyed what little creative writing I've done.

But after writing papers for almost a year now, I've come to realize I get very burnt off of it. And quickly.

The Bright hate still gets upsetting sometimes. But I need to try to move on from that now. My love for these characters matters more.

Yes, I even love that he has flaws and has done shit because it shows that he is human and is far from perfect just like the rest of us. I'd even say I love that he has almost no Newtype abilities, beyond just a good intuition, because that makes him that much more realistic and relatable.

I love that for all his serious no-nonsense tightass attitude, he still has a gentle, caring side to him. I love his steadfast commitment to Mirai and the kids and how their distance tears him, yet continues to remain faithful to them despite it and everything else.

I love Bright's down-to-earthness. I love that he is a natural-born captain, but still has a moral compass and wilfully disregards policy for the safety and well-being of his crew, friends, and even complete strangers.

I've been fighting an uphill battle and surrounding myself in negativity, when really I should've been talking more about what I love most about Bright.

After a lot of thought, I realize I've gotten way too preoccupied with 'fighting' the Bright hate and mischaracterizations. It doesn't really matter how much I argue against the bad takes when, at the end of the day, no one is going to budge from their views.
