Today on the @certifiedforgot.bsky.social site, we've got industry guru James Shapiro weighing in on Letterboxd's upcoming Video Store feature (launching in December).

Yet another company is venturing into "transactional VOD" distribution, but is the market there, and how can its model succeed?

Film distribution guru James Emanuel Shapiro explains why Letterboxd's Video Store strategy has good intentions but tough sledding ahead.

"Wildling women are wild and capable – they don’t need men to protect them, provide for them, or control them." One of my favorite things about working with @mollyhenery.bsky.social is that she really gets our niche of 2000s and 2010s horror criticism. So many movies in these decades need champions.
'Wildling' Offers No Mercy for Weak-Minded Men
Molly Henery sheds no tears for the small-minded men of Fritz Böhm's 'Wildling' in this edition of her Uterus Horror series.

Decided to get the first run of about thirty NES games. Just to give myself a slightly larger challenge, they’re the early versions with five screws instead of three. It’s been fun so far!

@monagle.bsky.social Andrew said the story is fine but this damn cover. I was tempted but ultimately left it

Did you recommend The Deviant comic? I just saw a video on it and it couldn’t be more “my shit” but it did sound familiar and I can usually attribute that to you

My book, Fulci's Inferno, is the first major new writing on Lucio Fulci in years, and the first to fully analyse the themes across his work. It analyses his entire career, and includes over 50 photos.

This book took 8 years to research and write. I hope you're gonna love it.

Found footage, religious trauma, Juno Ito-esque imagery? Yes.
So, so proud of @paulgandersman.bsky.social and @peterhallhuman.bsky.social for bringing MAN FINDS TAPE to theaters this winter. And great to see the trailer cut around @gholson.bsky.social's performance, which is one of the film's highlights. Give 'em hell, boys.

Weird call for a crossover but they did NOT have to go this hard for a variant cover. Glad they did, though.

"It’s no wonder a murderous serial killer would see Laurie, all alone and dressed up in a borderline infantile costume, and perceive her as the perfect victim. Too bad for the killer; he’s just falling right into a trap." Here's another October favorite, this time from @mollyhenery.bsky.social.
