Dung moss, Tetraplodon mnoides. As the common name suggests, it often grows on animal dung, but can also grow on bones, antlers and other substrates. Always an eye catcher for its striking colours.

The painting has a large red sun surrounded by hues of yellow and a dramatic blue sky with colours of turquoise and indigo. The sun is reflected onto the sea. The clouds are dancing about, they're my favourite. I left space to put a tree in the right foreground but I like clouds too much so kept it simple instead. Think of the end of a sunny day with the sounds of waves and scent of the sea. A great spot to have a doze for a while.

The view from under an old concrete dam in the woods. This decommissioned structure used to hold back the creek, creating a reservoir for the small town. The creek now flows through a large hole in the back wall, and it's an attraction on a local hiking trail. There is graffiti on the inner wall. The sun is shining through the tall "doorways", and the winter forest can be seen in the openings. There is snow on the ground outside.
