I’m not a big fan of pumpkin muffins. Or pumpkin anything else for that matter. But since it’s now the season, here’s my attempt at pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. Reasonably good, with more of a chocolate taste than pumpkin. Which is what I was looking for.

In the chilly North Country of New York State today. Some splendid autumn colors here, but today’s main attraction was a visit to Chazy Orchards, just to the northeast of Plattsburgh. They have the world’s largest orchard of McIntosh apples. My favorite kind of apple!

I’m thinking Blake Treinen must have some kind of incriminating stuff on Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts. Why else would Treinen be the reliever of choice when everybody knows that no Dodger lead is safe with Treinen on the mound?

This past weekend’s DeepSouthCon, in N’awlins, featured Cory Doctorow as Writer Guest of Honor. A great speaker, though his vision of the near future is not optimistic. He’s written a new book titled Enshitification that pretty well describes it.

I’ve lived in this house 29 and a half years. And I’m *still* getting mail for a Joseph Freedman. This has been happening off and on for the entire duration.
But what makes this really bizarre is that Freedman is not the guy who lived here before me.
