This list is a list of cities that have tens of thousands of people eager to move to them (mostly from surrounding suburbs/exurbs)

The claim isn’t that everybody wants to live in NYC the claim is that *more* people want to live in *a city* than currently do, and that is a result of policy choices

We are close to $30,000 raised in the first 12 hours. It's a good start.

We like to think the same can be said of our growth as a publication—that it's a good start.

But as we head toward 2026, 2027, and 2028, we need to do much more. Give now to push us onward: www.gofundme.com/f/the-libera...

this dumb shit is what i mean when i say this is a purely aesthetic “politics.” yeah man, why can’t we have a fusion of cosmopolitan social democracy and revanchist hierarchies of wealth and privilege? tough question.
Matt Stoller: “..Trump & Mamdani defeated establishment in their own way, representing hunger of voters on the right & left who want something different. If those sides cd come together.. that would be a sea change in how we organize our political economy”.

Meta wins its antitrust case, there are now two fire truck antitrust claims, the stock market got wobbly, and Larry Summers was exiled from the establishment, at least for now.

Insane hubris on the part of the student for not asking or even citing lol
One time I cited a professor in an essay for his class and I think I got a 98
grading a student essay and they appear to have lifted a few passages, with cosmetic adjustments and no attribution, from a journal article

I think Trump's behavior is a weird mix of loving anyone famous, loving anyone who has won something, and being generally timid about criticizing people to their faces — at least when he's still in the early stages of being wowed by their celebrity.
Trump frickin' loves this guy lmao

This is the sad but natural consequence of making getting a college degree a requirement for a white collar job.
People do not go to learn, they go to get the piece of paper that means their resume isn’t thrown in the trash.
Beautifully written & reasoned 3 min read. “To my students and to anyone who might listen, I say: Don’t surrender to AI your ability to read, write and think when others once risked their lives and died for the freedom to do so.”

The brilliant post-liberal solution to the housing crisis is to steal houses from immigrants and redistribute them to citizens.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

i think the media should report on the extremist ties of the VP
“The infighting [over welcoming open Nazis into the GOP tent] is stupid,” writes Vice President Vance, which makes sense only if he thinks any Republicans objecting to said Nazi-welcoming should shut up.
doing a Straussian reading of this post, especially point 3, and it's fairly obvious that Vance is aligned with the Tucker Carlson-wing of the GOP and thinks further right groups should be part of the tent, but won't outright break with Trump's I/P policy while he's still VP

Driving in traffic is a dull and unpleasant chore and the only way Americans can escape having to do it all the time is by moving to one of three very expensive cities. This is bad and we should fix it.
appropos of going outside daily, I have to note that drivers have just absolutely and completely lost their minds. I'm amazed that it has, somehow, gotten continually worse

why do drivers do this to themselves. just in full psychopathic rage all the time, everywhere

The Epstein stuff was always going to happen after the shutdown ended. It’s good politically that we can parlay the shutdown into this but that part would’ve been exactly the same if democrats held out another week or not.
Imagine if Dems in the Senate hadn't caved. The House wouldn't be in session rn, the discharge petition wouldn't be signed, people wouldn't have SNAP, govt workers would be RIF'd & the GOP would have some decent talking points. But also online rage addicts would be happier! YMMV!
