someone in the replies looking up this property and realizing the price is so low because it was a meth lab is such an amazing commentary on right-wing delusion

simply perfect. chefs kiss. 10/10. no notes
If you want to do something like this, why not buy a $150k home in a small town in Italy, France, Spain, or Mexico, instead of having nine people share one bathroom after they eat at a restaurant called "Stinky's?"

My one miss in the #XPNcountdown was the 2003 Grammy tribute to Joe Strummer - Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Van Zandt and Dave Grohl performing London Calling. Didn't make the #onevotewonder playlist, but who knows? I guess @kristenkurtis.bsky.social could check.

The New York Times has published a chat between David Brooks and Tom Friedman that begins with a Brooks "joke" so full of cringe-inducing envy that you'd think Nathan Fielder wrote it for a character based on David Brooks.

@jester2000.bsky.social Aer Lingus announced new routes to northern Spain and southern France.
Intriguing for the Camino is Santiago de Compostela - Cork. And we have friends in Aix-en-Provence, and new routes from Cork or Dublin could get us near there.

Nine of my ten votes in the #XPNCountdown made the list. The one miss is a bit obscure, so maybe it'll end up in @kristenkurtis.bsky.social 's one-vote-wonders tomorrow morning. If it doesn't, I'll post what it was afterwards.

Emil Bove is 44 years old. He's worked in offices his entire adult life.
I'm 55. I've broken two vertebrae in my back, I've had hypothermia and heatstroke, I've jumped out of airplanes, and I've been shot at, mortared, IED'ed more times than I can count.
I look less like a corpse than he does.
When I was a judicial law clerk in Montana, Pres Bush flew into the Billings airport for a rally.

I wanted to see Air Force One and asked the judge I clerked for if I could go. He said no, that it wouldn’t be appropriate.

And I was just a clerk. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/10/u...
