I have not watched STRANGER THINGS since season 1 but I was gripped by the notion that the show could end this way. I doubt it will happen but holy f***, if it does, I will kick my feet up and watch the internet lose its collectivee mind over it.

ETERNITY absolutely leveled me emotionally. I'm devastated and invigorated, all at once.

My favorite Elizabeth Olsen performance. Possibly my favorite Miles Teller performance. Fantastic stuff.

Absolutely stellar six mile run today. Not sure what it is lately but running has truly never felt better. It f*****g heals me man. Find something this rewarding if you can. Can't recommend it enough.

F*** it! Just let James Cameron come in and make an R-rated JURASSIC PARK movie now. Certainly he can just squeeze that in before AVATAR 4, right?

PREDATOR: BADLANDS probably won't be an outright theatrical hit, but it's going to do well enough to be viewed as something of a loss leader for Disney. They want this franchise to be a thing and the reception has been positive enough to make it worth it, I believe.

I predict that Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig will put together KNIVES OUT 4 (if not two movie sequels) and take the package out to buyers who will guarantee a theatrical release now that the deal with Netflix has run its course.

Rian Johnson is already thinking about the possibility of making Knives Out 4, though whether Netflix would be involved is another matter.

It's with great disappointment that I must (for now) bring my column TALES FROM THE BOX OFFICE to a close. I've had the fortune of writing this column at Slash Film for 4 years. I'm enormously proud of it. Here's a link to every single one of them.

It's far too early to say, but some evidence suggests that WUTHERING HEIGHTS could be the first big bonafide box office hit of 2026.

KEEPER may not be a hit but Oz Perkins somehow made it for just $6 million, apparently. Even with a $2.5 million opening weekend, NEON will be fine and Perkins will certainly be fine. This remains a fruitful relationship. The benefit of finding a way to work cheap.

Did a GODZILLA double feature last night with some friends. Pulled two at random from a hat. Assembled the full physical media collection for the fun of it.

Ended up as a Heisei era showcase with GODZILLA 1984 (aka THE RETURN OF GODZILLA) and the delightfully bonkers GODZILLA VS KING GHIDORAH.

Between A-list directors wanting theatrical releases, the success of KPOP DEMON HUNTERS and a possible bid to buy Warner Bros., it now feels inevitable that Netflix will have to get into the business of theatrical releases, whether they like it or not.

It can but...

People have asked me, "How do I get into running?"

My response? "You shouldn't."

Running isn't a magic bullet. It clicked with me. Lift weights. Dance. Box. Play basketball. Whatever! Just find something you enjoy on some level and lean in.

It doesn't have to feel like a "job."

First "light jog" (doctor's orders) since the surgery. 6 miles. Felt absolutely fantastic. Nice and cool out. Got to break out the long sleeve. Happy to be back at it.

Again, trying to convince actual, not rich human beings that the economy is good right now just by saying it's good is a WILD strategy.

We go to the store. We get emails about healthcare going up. We know people out of work. We aren't getting raises. You can't lie your way out of our reality.
TRUMP: The economy is as strong as it's ever been

INGRAHAM: Then why are people saying they're anxious about the economy?

TRUMP: I don't know they are saying that. The polls are fake. We have the greatest economy we've ever had
