You probably haven't heard of me. Made some video games also made some animations, not currently working on those. I post a lot of basic scale model pics. He/Him

My posts are neither tonally nor thematically consistent
I am really not understanding what the conversation even is that is being showing in these Chotiner screen shots I am seeing. Don’t know the other players or where all the links in the shots go to

I am hoping it’ll make more sense to me tomorrow

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

I am back from dinner, etc and some of y’all seemed to have liked the Fist Of The North Star Fitness Boxing thread quite a lot

This makes me happy

I'm getting real tired of not being able to trust that a video game doesn't have AI crap in it:

You have to keep giving money to avoid collapse and if there’s collapse you have to give more money. It’s called the free market.

Sometimes you do find historically accurate info about Japan online. This ancient art of Dutch-catching is called dejima-jutsu and it has applications in business, health, personal relationships, and politics.

I will talk about the outfits later. I must go now to lift a cat
I looked at this stupid thing and thought… “Yes, I think maybe Kenshiro would be good motivation for me to punch the air in my living room on a consistent basis” and SOMEHOW IT FUCKING WORKED

… which is a great cue to talk about the outfits

It took about 3 months longer than I expected, because they kept moving the goalposts on me, but I can finally post about what is probably the stupidest thing I am legitimately proud of

This might be a long thread…
I think I should be able to do a life-accomplishment post on here in a few days about the stupidest thing, and it amuses me intensely to see it approaching

if you let me write a star wars movie it would be an adaptation of the rogue squadron/wraith squadron books. post-jedi, early new republic. captains wedge antilles and tycho celchu must assemble a team of pilot/commandos to take out a gathering of high-ranking officers among the imperial remnant

One of my favorite things is getting to tell friends who are new to NYC that the subway "stand clear of the closing doors please" voice is a trans woman named Bernie Wagenblast and she's amazing.

Maybe I should finally do the stupid-thing-I’m-very-proud-of thread I’ve put off the last few days (I wanted more pics)

I am still amused by this and now currently killing time until cat lifting
I have a calendar entry for tomorrow — which I don’t do a lot of, mostly I make entries for things I’m likely to forget — that simply says “Lift mom’s cat”

Now admittedly that’s phrased to amuse me, but it’s also 100% accurate

Seems like a good place to say the podcast Going Rogue ( @goingroguepod.bsky.social ) is excellent. It’s about why that movie is… what it is. It’s not about why the movie is bad, buuuuut it’s definitely not about it being good
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)

Despite the fact that I just binged myself to current in the manga a few weeks ago, I had totally forgotten the extended car comedy bit. And it’s another great example of why you make the anime even if you don’t change the plot at all

do you have any idea how much you have to piss somebody off to make them change their gauge
#Finland will begin to #Russia - proof its rail network, integrate with EU train infrastructure.

The Finnish government has announced the conversion of its rail network from Russian gauge (1,524 mm) to European standard (1,435 mm).

“It was strange that he had drawn a map, because he has been asked to draw a clock. Lot of people asking that of him lately. Not sure what that’s about”
“One day [trump] sat on the plane with me. We were talking about Syria, and he drew a map of the Mideast for me. And it was a perfect map,” Kennedy told me. “Then he drew in the troop strength of each country, and also the troop strength on various borders.”
NEW: When RFK Jr. first told Trump that Tylenol might cause autism, the president wanted to tweet out a warning. Kennedy told him not to do that. There was nuance, and the drug companies would push back. “I don’t give a shit about that,” Trump responded. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

I’ve thought about this a lot and it is not my place to say but I’ve always found these words to be neutered by the “phobic” - hate is not a phobia. Phobia implies something that is out of a person’s control. Hate is evil and insidious and shouldn’t be watered down by mental health implications.
good call @erinbiba.bsky.social and can we replace “transphobic” and “homophobic” with anti-Trans and anti-Gay?
Given the way that the term antisemitism has been corrupted and denatured by the right (and the left frankly) to meet their own ends I’m considering replacing the term in my own vernacular with anti-Jewish.
