Bring your baby to work day?

I am explaining different theories of emotion, and my 5-month-old son is mesmerized.

There is an arbitrary point in a runner’s life when “lifetime miles” switch from being a source of assurance to a cause for concern.

New column is up at iRunFar!

47.78!! Unreal performance by Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone to win the 400m at the world championships. And in the rain no less. Marileidy Paulino pushed her all the way to the finish, and took second in 47.98.

They move to 2nd and 3rd on the all-time list. The nearly 40-year-old world record is 47.60.

Really terrible.

Need to check that out. Thanks!

I can’t overstate how much I loathe the Enhanced Games and the fact that running media is covering it and thereby lending legitimacy to the enterprise.

I accidentally signed an email

Beset,
Dr. Little

instead of "best," and I was tempted to keep it because it's also true.

I was the mystery reader at my toddler's preschool this morning.

I thought about bringing in Language, Proof, and Logic or Being and Time for the kiddos. Ultimately, I went with Little Blue Truck.

Remembering a few years ago when this was my attempted 100K race pace. Now it's an 8-miler. Don't despise the day of small beginnings, I guess! Looking forward to this rebuild back to form.

"Running is not my only love. ... My love of the sport has taught me a lot about what it means to love something. Our loves shape us, motivate us, and leave a mark on us. In the words of James Smith, we are what we love." – @sabrinablittle.bsky.social

❝It goes like this: I love running. It calls me to participate. As I participate, I am transformed by my participation. I love it even more.

Last week, Jonathan Haidt shared this graphic on the decline of perseverance because of screens.

This week, I wrote about what we can do about it. Perseverance can be cultivated! Here are some guidelines:
